A 'not so good news' for the F1 track. Picked it up in one of the Noida real estate forums.

For the benefit of fellow members who cannot read hindi, basically, Akhil Bhartiya Kisan Sabha has announced that they will organise a 4 day Kabaddi and a Cricket tournament on the F1 track in the month of August. This is their way of protesting against land acquisition for the track. They claim that farmers whose land has been taken away, their kids have nowhere to play, hence their announcement to hold this tourney. Phew. Sid

3 Jun 2011, 0400 hrs IST,

Has any one heard from IMMC after the sessions? There have been no mails or messages from them. If I remember correctly, there was a session to be conducted sometime in June, right?

I think this is going to take some time; until the Bahrain F1 race status is finalized.

Hope to hear something now. Bahrain GP is back on the calendar.

autosport.com - F1 News: FIA reinstates Bahrain Grand Prix
Quote:
On Friday, the governing body's World Motor Sport Council met in Barcelona to vote, and gave the green light for the Bahrain Grand Prix to take place this year.
The event has been given an October 30 date, which is likely to mean the Indian Grand Prix moves to December 4 or December 11, the latest finish to a season since 1963, although the FIA did not confirm the date for the race.

Ahh the track seems to be coming out well. With the race now pushed to December, I only pray FOG does not play a role here.

It all depends on when the GP is slated to start.

In December, if there's fog, it would be only until noon or post it that the visibility will be good; although not 100% clear.

A 1430 start would leave very little room for preparations. Something like a 1600 start will be the best; so the race doesn't end in darkness!

There seems to be fresh uncertainty over the Bahrain GP.

Ecclestone wants new vote on Bahrain, date change - The Times of India

Looks like almost all teams are opposed to the idea of the Indian GP being the season finale.

Max Mosley, former head of FIA has gone to the extent of saying there is not the slightest chance Bahrain GP will happen.

So, let's see what transpires.

I'd read this article too. From the look of it, it seems like Bahrain won't host a GP this year.

But I don't think that will be certain as yet; the report mentions the amount of money Bahrain is pumping in for the GP.

At the end of the day, it eventually is all about money.

I wonder how long they will keep dilly-dallying about this.

I heard yesterday on BBC that it's called off and Indian GP will be in October.

When will the training start?

Bahrain officially off the Calendar -

BBC- BBC Sport - Bahrain Grand Prix cut from 2011 F1 calendar
Auto Sport - autosport.com - F1 News: Bahrain officially off 2011 calendar

Hoping to hear from IMMC. I am sure this confusion must have pushed them on a back foot. Time for them to put Pedal to the Metal.

I had attended the induction program in Mumbai. Any update on the future program training sessions? They had said that it will happen in June 2011. But no communication received.
