Overwhelming response, guys. Thanks!

It's going to be a dream opportunity to view the Formula 1 cars & drivers up close. But also keep in mind that it will be tiring, crowded, chaotic & entail long hours.

Well said man. As the race is being organised by a privateer (Jaypee Group), I'm certain the event will turn out far better managed than the CWG.

I suppose you'll be just fine

I have sent the application. Does anyone have an idea of how many marshals they require from India?

Great opportunity! However, I just happened to see the 2011 calender on the Formula 1 Official site, it has a * near the India Grand Prix listing and the * has been specified meaning "Subject to circuit approval" . Just out of curiosity, are there any confirmations on the 'circuit approval' which have not been updated on the official site? Or are the preparations on before it is approved?

I too have filled the form out and sent it. From what I was reading, I came to know that the first leg of 5.14km track will be completed by Jan 2011 and will be inspected before the complete go ahead is given.

@ Himavanth : I'd say your chances are extremely good

@ Skyline GT-R : Requirement is 700 marshals.

If it was government organised, I wouldn't be so optimistic. However, just the fact that its an established privateer makes me believe that the circuit will be top class. And shouldn't have any problems with approval.

I was just wondering why the weekend is of 4 days? I thought there is no practice or official running on Thursday :?

Anyways, a great way to watch the F1 cars up close. Wish I could take part but I'm not sure if I'll be around at the time of the race.

All the best everyone!

Its a great opportunity GTO. Thanks for sending it across. Would have been better if the organisers help with accomodation and travel at least for those from outside Delhi

I totally agree with you on this as the Indian F1 track is around 58 kms away from New Delhi, which is being built up in Greater Noida.
