Loved to read about your restoration project. Have a yezdi classic myself. Why did you paint over the chrome on the side of the tanks. You should have let that glisten.

My Jikov carb had a crack and had to be replaced. The new one is a constant annoyance due to floater setting issues. Naver had time to braze repair and re-use the Jikov. Kept it for one day...

I 'll have to stock a full engine set - block and piston, brgs etc. soon , plus the 2 over sizes for future, 1 wheel rim set and 1 pair of exhausts. Presently the bikes on it's last bore size and in hibernation - well oiled though. Just no time for it past 3 years.

Hey hubolt, Try to fire your bike on weekends, keep it running for few minutes. I also own few of these bikes like other fellow Bhpians and we all have stocked lots of spares same like u have that could even last for each one of us for centuries... Regards, Ranjit

Did you get the original design tail lamp ? The bike looks really classical with that. Try finding an original one (doubtful) or at least a local one with good translucency.

Ranjit, I'm guessing Sandeep_K_Ram is talking about the Jawa taillamp. If you've got a dozen of those, I'll find you!!!

Cheers,
Rahul

I did mean the yezdi tail lamp and not the Jawa one but good you stocked up on these - I am doing the same for some of the other "easily" available parts now - you never know when they might become "precious"

Any expansion chamber design available which I can fabricate and bolt on whenever I feel like it ? Had anyone tried different silencer pipe lengths?

It is possible you can go to the fabricator who designs the chambers. In Nashik a guy called Appa Karpe is a Magician in making Expansion chambers for bikes.

Hubolt, get hold of this book called "Two-Stroke Tuning handbook" written by Gordon Jennings in 1973. It has a great article on Expansion Chamber design, amongst other things. An amazing book to have, if one is interested in performance modification.

Cheers,
Rahul

PS: I could mail you a PDF of it if necessary (its about 8MB).
