Please post some photos of this bike first to judge it's worthiness.
In case you are not desperate to own a RD :
Claim remuneration for services provided and walk away from this paper-less bike !
In case you desperately want a RD :
You may want invest this remuneration to acquire a RD through a proper sales channel. Agreed, you might have to shell out few bucks from your own pocket as well, but peace of mind will be ensured.
