By the looks of it they are trying to fight the CBR150R on the looks front as they have dual colors of Black-Green, Black-Red, Black-Yellow on this model. It is not a full fairing as well!

Mightily disappointed by this move from TVS!! Sorry could not click pics of the brochure as i did not carry a camera phone with me!
Is it a semi faired bike?

And if what you are stating is true, then TVS should not have made such a big deal about it, they are beating around the bush by launching one after another variant of apache. Seems like another classic case of "Lost opportunity".

Nope no fairing at all. Just a different headlamp unit. I did not get a chance to look at the full tech specs but engine is the same 15.2PS RTR160 engine - which i saw in the brochure!

And a +100 to your lost opportunity quote! They should have made the most of it this time round. The brochure has the same pic posted by the OP in this thread on its first page.

Its just a cosmetic change and no changes to engine and handling.

If it is as you've mentioned - a 160 cc bike without full fairing, its another opportunity lost. And too much hype. Tired of such gimmicks!

In their quest to challenge competition, woo racer-boys and show others that they are not unimaginative, TVS has completely lost it this time. Look what they have come up with. If they couldn't make a new bike why ruin the proven one??

'New' TVS Apache RTR spyshots | Facebook

If this is what TVS thinks will keep them afloat in a market with cut-throat competition from the likes of KTM, Yamaha, Hondas and Pulsars in it already, I can't help imagining their strategy for coming years. With this turtle slow pace they might never be able to catch the competition, let alone customers/enthusiasts.

PS: Have to give credit to TVS promotion/ad campaigns. This one below is the same ghastly bike that you saw in the pictures above. Good work!

This is really disappointing by doing a cosmetic job. The original looks of the RTR is gone. The fairing on this new one is not so inspiring except for the new parking lights.

TVS get the damn 200+ cc bike out ASAP. Every other manufacturer is betting their money on a 200+cc segment. Are you guys at TVS sleeping?

Are those real carbonfiber bits on the tank? And I love that Indian flag decal. Reminds of the great Italian bikes.

But frankly the bike is a disappointment. Most of us have been expecting a 250cc bike. Atleast a faired 160cc would have got it some market share against the R15 and CBR150.

What happened to the TVS Taurus? Will it never see the light of the day?

For me, the teaser pic looks like the rear of Suzuki access 125

No, no was just kidding. While the teaser was exciting, the actual looks like a Dud. Tasteless

As some members have pointed out TVS has been disappointing, more so when they do have a lot of in house expertise but not being able to leverage that and introduce the right products in the market.

The fake carbon fiber bits look plasticy and cheap too. What was TVS thinking? Add some LED DRL's in the headlamp and people will get fooled into buying this?

Today, the consumer is a lot more intelligent or better informed than the sales guys or the dealerships of these companies.

Gone are those days where Hyundai used to rake out santro's with every other possible badge on the boot, even limited editions were unlimited () and they had takers for it.
