That should be the case since the KTM India 390 page already reflects 'coming soon to India'.

Just that the interview is very confusing.

It's a faired bike initially , and the naked will follow , let's cross our fingers and wait .

I'm guessing the bike in the pics is just a prototype. Looks weird - the tail pipe looks oddly long like the hyosung's, the rear cowl and the fairing looks like it's designed from cardboard and that seat is a bad joke.

Why showcase an "unfinished" project at a motor show of all places?

The one in the pic is sure a prototype , I think they are looking to bring in a touring one . It's all good ,let the competition heat up .
The RC 8 pics in the link looks delicious ,I wouldn't mind the 390 borrowing design cues from its big brother .

It is the production(not street legal) version of the KTM moto3 racer called "KTM Moto3 250 GPR Production Race Bike".

how credible is this article? I highly doubt this bit about the faired version showing up before the naked. the cheaper, easier to manufacture naked version would see the light of day before the relatively expensive and more intensive to develop faired version.

this article at overdrive.in seems lost in translation

Mods,

Keeping pace with time, can you please remove the "to be" and update the thread name with "unveiled in November 2012"

My Apologies; has the bike been already launched in bangalore? Travel on the same road while heading to Office and could not find any poster or banner mentioning the same. If you have photos can you please upload them for the benefit of all?

Ahh gotcha, was taken aback when he mentioned in a general way. So would it hit the Indian Showrooms by next year first quarter?
Thank you for clarity Sir

Unveiled and launched are two different things. I was pointing at unveiling, which did happen as planned in November 2012. Thus my message to the mods to change the heading. Likewise I am also waiting for the launch to happen in India (including Bangalore )

So, I guess each one of you is as lost as I am

With Stefan Pierer clearly stating that the next KTM will be fully faired one (which everybody assumes will be a derivative of D390), when is the D390 coming? And if is not coming right away, then why does the KTM India website says 'coming soon to India' ? SP talked about the tourer version too, which I personally am neither interested, nor following.

All sane logic says that the D390 as well as its sports version are the next inline. Question is, which one is coming first and when? And will the other one follow in say about six months?

I am looking at KTM as my next bike since it has the right displacement and power figures for me. Problem is, I don't know which one and when. One thing is for sure, I am not buying anything till either or both of them come along...Till then, I'll keep driving my cars while my century old 'mediocrity in motion - Bajaj Avenger' (I don't like my bike) can keep resting in my garage. Chances are, it may directly get sold without being driven much!

a bit OT, but going by the Duke 200, what would be the mileage figure for 390? Is there any way to derive an approximation?

My duke 200 gives me 35-38 and when im very sedate i.e constantly in 6th gives me 41. The 390 cant be expected to give more than 30 on a regular basis and on very sedate riding should give 32-35kmpl but i highly doubt that.
