This is only thing which is sorely missing, rest IMO it is one hell of a package.
I hope they offer optional ABS in time to come.
Paying 4L I expected ABS to come as standard. Ne'ertheless a stunning piece of machinery. This is THE bike to have when one wants to start his track experience.
Although, I'd say its pointless to compare it with the CBR250. Makes more sense comparing it with it's half-sibling, the 390.

Finally motorcycling in India is coming of age.

Will the exposed surface area of the radiator start rusting in coastal areas like madras, bombay etc?

That apart i think the saree guard looks quite good. Price may be high currently as the bike is imported fully.

Looks good, I wonder if the 250 prices will have any effect in the used market now when 300 is launched.

It will be good to see a comparison between the 250 and 300 from someone who has experienced the 250 earlier.

Any current 250 owners here thinking of upgrading to the latest avatar of Ninja.

Oh yes dreamseller you are very true.
ABS shouldn't be offered as an option but as a standard equipment in such a bike!

I think the newer Ninjas(300,650) are quite a handsome bunch as compared to their rivals (Honda,Hyosung).
Saw a new Ninja 650 a few days back and boy what a looker it is! It just doesn't fail to grab eye balls.
Not only that but they are also technologically and riding-wise a cut-above the rivals.

If I have the needed Vitamin M my next upgrade would definitely be a White Ninja 300.

Lets not even bring the Koreans into the equation. I rode the GT650R the other day for about 100 odd kms. While the vtwin does make decent amount of power, I quite didn't like the vibrations creeping in.
I'd ideally wait for the CBR400/500 to launch for people who do not want an out-n-out track machine. And given Honda's current localisation plans, it should be at a good price too.

But yes, when it comes to sheer looks of faired bikes, the Ninja twins take the cake.

I quite agree with you. What makes the 300 stand out is the lines. Somehow honda bikes miss those lines and cutting features. This alone is a plus point going for the Ninja. Performance wise Ninja will always score over Honda cc per cc in whatever capacity you compare. As for the 300 though it appears an all out sports bike but the clip on handles are set up pretty high compared to other track machines. This makes city commuting and touring pretty comfortable.

Love it. Maybe I wasn't a fan of the Ninja before but I love the front end now on this one. Aggressive.

But I'll wait for Honda

I like the upgrades on the ninja.
Its available for display in Chennai probiking KTM showroom.
I just got a call from them.
Both green and white are available for display.
I like the way they have planned the launch and display side by side than wait for months to get the display bike after launch.
They sure are a premium brand in India.

On road price of Ninja in Chennai = Rs 3,94,140/-
Ex showroom price = Rs 3,56,000/-

Will be checking the bike in flesh over the weekend.
Hope it does not disappoint me as the 250R did.
Would have to wait for a test ride bike for 1 yr.

As it is the bike is over priced for an Indian pocket, an ABS version would have shot it over by 4.5l and that number would have killed its sales ever again.
They wanted to keep it below 4lakh for people to feel light at heart.
Wonder why the black version was not planned for launch.

Autocar India just reviewed the bike.

http://bit.ly/XvMljS

Top speed is now a genuine 168kph.

Our tests confirm the Ninja 300 is about half a second quicker than the 250R to 60kph, and over a full second faster to 100kph.

Don't know about that bro.

I have read many reports of the 300 touching 180 kmph as its true top end.

So if the 300 coming to India is really topping out at 168, detuning is certain to have been done.

Also they say the 0-100 is a full second faster than the 250. Which would put it at around high 6s low 7s.

The Duke 390 would therefore be almost 2 seconds quicker to 100. That's like a LIFETIME man.

Now the question is, will the Duke 390 timed at 171 kmph in Austria, really do 171 kmph in India as well.

If yes, we have the possibility of the Duke 390 both out-dragging the Ninja 300, as well as having longer legs.

And at close to 2 lacs less (hopefully).

I have a query. Does any one know which country is Bajaj outsourcing the CKD's for Ninja 300?

The kits are from Thailand.

I enquired in Pune probiking. They still do not have the confirmed price from Pune RTO. Expected price should be 3.9L OTR.

I am a big fan of the Ninja brand but they have always disappointed on the pricing front. 3.9L OTR for a 300 CC bike with no ABS as standard just sucks.

Common Bajaj the pricing is just plain wrong. 2.2 (speculated) for the upcoming KTM390 and 3.9 for this?

I will now put my money aside for the Honda 400CC machines. I am very confident that they will cose less than 4 odd lakhs. Should be clear in some more months.

Received this tweet reply from Rishad Cooper (Autocar) -

Rishad Cooper ‏@rishadcooper 3m @dkaile both Ninjas good bikes in their segments. Ninja 650 the better bike of course, provided spending more isn't a bother

@dkaile 8h
@rishadcooper Is the 300 better option or the 650 in the Ninja series as the price difference is just 1.5L?

The only issue is that if the 500 too is a CKD then the prices too would be north. I personally feel that the CBR's being made in India dont have the fit and finish that one would expect from a Honda, and then the issues of paint and plastic quality is a lot to be desired. Also with an increase of 200 cc over ninja you are only getting around 9 bhp more.
