Any idea what this covers? Or is it the existing warranty but extended to 5 years? Anything that we customers have to do?

Feel good about this especially since I bought an Impulse last week.

This warranty is applicable only for products bought after 13 April 2013

Congrats Naveen on the Hero Impulse. :thumbs up
Did you get this 5 years warranty during your purchase? If not have you enquired with your dealer about this?

I can see the company trying to get back its stance in the market by getting such marketing tricks at this point.

Now it be a wait to see what all the warranty over the 5 years cover.

The warranty period is available for Yamaha bikes too,but it is two years of standard warranty and three years of extended warranty and can be availed by the customer for a sum of 777(?) INR.
And the added benefit is that you get a free service for every paid service after the standard warranty expires and it lasts for the entire duration of three years.

Great move by Hero Motocorp. 5yrs/70000kms warranty on all motorcycles proves the confidence of the company in its products, especially the Splendour. They have given a strong feet for their reliability factor upon which Hero wins hands down any day. Now its getting clear for Honda that their dreams have got a tough road ahead.

This is going to help Hero in boosting up its numbers. First of its kind scheme in India.

When you have age old mature products, which have changed nothing but stickers in last 10 years, 5 years warrantee is but expected.

Alright! Keeping this cynical view aside, congratulations to Hero for being the first in raising their quality bar.

Great move, now if only they can bring some fresh products out there in the market.

Good move indeed. In all my rides, Hero is the only bike brand I've seen that actually has a presence in all parts of the country, in small towns, on small roads, and well off any major highway.

Must be quite a relief for those who like to tour outside of the GQ or major towns.

Now, if only they would plonk a bigger engine into that Impulse! :)

(PS: I don't own a Hero bike.)

This is definitely a good, brave move and will boost sales for Hero Motorcorp! But considering they are plonking that one standard 100cc engine since the 80s into most of their vehicles, it's just a marketing move!

By the way, I don't see the first generation Karizma R in the brochure. Does it mean it is discontinued?
