Brilliant wet ride photos baleno power. Congrats on your Bull. She looks sweet. Very classy. My 3 grouses on what is a quintissential standard look is

1) the "padded" grab rail.

2) the dot bindi tail light

3) the crash guards

Not a big fan of the chrome RVMs either (they vibrate a lot and never hod position at speed) or the headlight peak for that matter.

I also see you've bought into the Yezdi rubber at end of exhaust urban legend. Part and parcel of trying out and learning I guess.

It is going to be a 500, only that I will have to test drive a better maintained TB500 and decide between TB500 and Bullet 500.
I own a Desert Storm 500 and I am really happy with it. Make sure you get a 500cc engine with your new RE. The TB 500 is a good bike and should be ultra comfy on longer rides with its relaxed riding position and the few modern bits they have added like LED lights, digital trip meter etc. The standard 500 is a great bike but why not go for the electronic fuel injection models? The classic range come in some brilliant colours now. The silver with black and the cream with maroon combination are great. Or you could go camouflage style like me and get a DS.

I hear the waiting days are more or less over now and you can get delivery in 2-3 weeks. Wish you good luck in making your decisions. You have made the right decision in opting for a Royal Enfield.

Thank you for your feedback and advice, I have postponed my plan to get
a RE upto 2016 as I just bought a XUV 5oo and that should keep me
engaged and entertained for another year or two, besides I am now under
some severe budget constraints. :(

Lovely pics of the bullets riding in the rain. Is Pavna Lake somewhere in Lonavla and Amby valley area? I find those roads look similar to that route

That area gets beautiful in rains and is a pleasure to ride and travel in that scenic and foggy conditions

Cheers

heh, my last update as I see was in 2014. So Mqueen has been doing well and I haven't put too many km on the odo. But the last 4 months has been interesting. Decided to ride down from Mumbai to Jammu for a friends wedding. The Bullet got serviced, spare cable bought, windscreen fixed (which was a bad idea) and we were off. My 500 accompanied by a classic 350, a cbr250 and a Duke 200.

Good roads meant I could keep the bike at 90-100 all day and an occasional 130 on the speedo. Even kept at 90 the bike managed to return 35-40 kmpl which i thought was brilliant. Zero break downs, supremely comfortable, just wish it could cruise at 120.

Coming back from the trip, I felt the lack of a decent instrument console. So on went a Vapor digital console. So i now know my engine temp, ambient temp, rpm, max speed and get tripmeters. Yay.

so it was time to hit the road again. This time we decided to do Mumbai - mount abu - Mumbai. There's a travelogue coming up by 'Doctorque' so i wont divulge the trip details.
As for the bike, Halflitre did brilliant. the roads were awesome so the speedo was constantly between 90-100 kmph and occasionally nudging the 120kmph mark.
I was surprised by the efficiency too. always between 31 - 35 kmpl. Me along with a himalayan also did some exploring which only the RE's could manage. We did 1600 km over a span of 4 days, out of which 2 days saw us covering over 1500 km. Overall, 3 years down the line, im still an extremely happy owner. Here are some pics
