If the 2t pump has packed itself up and gone for a vacation it's better to get a replacement rather than call him back from the holidays. Repaired pumps are not reliable. A new pump will cost 1500bucks as far as i can remember. No idea which is the best 2t oil now available, i've been using castrol Jetx and then shifted to motul when it was launched. Motul is very good.

Hari, from the image, I think the oil packings has worn out. Are your gears tight? If yes, I believe you gear oil has leaked. Your front fork seals also seems to be be worn out.

You will have to order the pump from Yamaha. I searched for a new pump for my cousin at many places in Kerala and was unable to find one. Later I brought one for 850Rs from a local mechanic. I presume he had lifted the pump from another bike.

As I mentioned in an old post, most second hand Yamahas donot have the oil pump and add oil to the fuel tank.

It won't harm the engine. But its always better for the pump to do its work of pumping the correct measure of 2T oil. If the pump is absent, continue adding 2T oil with petrol, I usually add 30ml of 2T for a litre.

plus, adding oil to tank prevents tank rusting.

Very glad to see RX fans taking pride in their bike even in this age of pulsars and karis!!

Give he bike for general servicing and get the wheel trued and check the cone & ball set for wear. This could clear the prob.

Hi. Need help regarding my RX135. Its a 99 model 4 speed.
I got the full service & tune up done, there is an unending problem. The idling RPM of the bikes keeps on fluctuating & the amount of white smoke which the bike emits during idling & in motion is much more than any other RX135. I am taking her back to the mech tomorrow, but needed some inputs from you friends. Thanks in advance.

guys i have some doubts regarding the rx seires.....
1)how much is the fuel tank capacity
2)how much is the reserve capacity
3) wat will happen if i dont keep the fuel valve in off position if im parking the bike for over a day??
4)wats the maximum speed possible in 2nd gear???i know this one is awkward but my bike seems to loose power in the 2nd gear...
5)how to increase the torque??the top gear (4th gear) cannot be used for speeds under 40kmph.....issit normal???

guys pls help me out in these questions especially as im new to 2 strokes....heard tht the 2 strokes have less torque in comparision with similar 4stroke.....is this true???

also i read somewhere tht the kinetic 2t oil is as good as castrols and also they are cheaper.....any ideas??which is the best oil???

thanks for bearing my questions

1. 10.5
2. 1.5
3. engine will get rich. if float needle is good, nothing will happen
4. depends. can do 65-67 on my 5 speed with a 16T front.
5. 4th gear can be comfy used at 40kmph. if you cant, there's something wrong with the bike.

total fuel capacity is 12 litres
main capacity is 10.5 L
and reserve is 1.5 L
if u dont put ur fuel cock off for over a day and ur carb is leaking then there will be wastage of fuel , also ur crankcase will get flooded with fuel . company manual says that it can cause damage . that might happen .. ur bike will become sluggish and not start easily cas she is flooded with fuel . and its also a waste of fuel IMO .
is ur bike stock ? for stock bikes i think the speeds a stock RX does is around 30 km/hr ? not sure . i know in 3rd gear a stock RX135 will do a maximum of 60 km/hr .
U can increase torque and pickup by playing with ur sprocketting .
with regards to oils the Best is Motul but its very expensive . its the best 2T oil money can buy . among affordable indian ones there is YamaLube , Castrol Jetx , Castrol Super TT , Shell , Veedol ..in that order .
