You need the stock generator assembly to fix an auto escorts kit, mine came with a CDI, so it was ruled out. I tried procuring old generator assemblies and as usual, people were asking for an arm and a leg.

Got you, did I tell you I am very close to Yamaha legends from Trivandrum , people like Sidney Francis know me on first name basis. I had thought initially that I would take the carbs to him for a rebuild.

Very reliable and trouble-free. I had enough trouble with points which would go off every few days and spoil the fun. Ron's kit was out of my budget.

Will wait for your feedback of the "Allied kit". Haven't heard of it.

Good luck for your build!
I will definitely put my Feedback on the allied kit. I am just waiting to reach home tomorrow evening to start working on the bike again.

I can donate mine to you if you want for the kind of dedication & effort you're putting in; the last I used it was in 2011 when I rebuilt my Rx to fit Ron sir's generator. Ever since then its lying idle with me.

I'll PM you whenever I come to Bangalore or KL & we can take it up from there.

You can always invite him for tutorial after office hours, i was fortunate to hang around Muthoot and learn all the trick bits in person. Few of us were allowed to park out and work on bikes and he would guide Those were the days...

He came home last week to help me start the bike, he has lost a lot of weight and does not look like he used to. He promised me to help me fix the carbs and tune them. He has lost the passion(it a personal feeling) in biking but he is such a nice gentleman and a very humble and down to earth human being unlike some so called "tooners". Its difficult to find such a rare combination anymore.

Tonite is the last night in Bangalore for this trip, I went to GEE BEE again today, got another set of stock jets(I am just crazy) and a pair of 165 jets. I got a carb rebuild kit for the RX 100 as well, so that it doesn't feel offended

Also bought some more rear mud flaps(read 4) for future use. Eagerly waiting for tomorrow to land in Trivandrum.

Aha!! RD 350. So many beautiful memories. Your bike seems so much better when you got it. I had to get 3 people from a nearby construction site to dig mine out. The previous owner had forgotten it existed till i saw it, lying there waiting to be loved!! All the best Pramod. Its a tedious job... but as the expression goes "Its a labour of love"

Thanks and good luck with your build.

Finally I am back home, she is how I left her. I got a shock at the airport today, when I saw magnetic things are banned to fly. I was thinking what would I do if they asked me to unload the CDI kit, good that I dodge that bullet and I am home. Will post updates tomorrow.

That is all you need! ATVB keep us posted.

Rip the carb off and dip it in petrol overnight before handing over to him

The Carbs are done, will go to him for final tuning. The new CDI kit was fixed and the bike started in the first kick, as the woodruff key was screwed could not get it running. we lost 4 woodruff keys, they snapped clean. I was told that the key from a pulsar classic is a direct fit. let me try source it today. the Bike might run by EOD.

I have connected all except the engine. I have even figured out the yellow ones are charging coil and the Blue could be source or HT. I am really close and I don't want to call it quits now. I will connect the indicators today.

Sorry for a late response Pramod.

The Blue wire is for the Neutral Light which connects to the blue wire on the Wiring Harness and goes to the Pilot Lamp Cluster.
Cheers

No Buddy, I was talking about the 2 blue wires coming out of the shogun coil, the coil was a 90/100 coil for shogun(shogun does not come with a pulsar coil).

I build the whole bike I know where the blue wire goes (Just kidding)

Thanks for the response though.

Guys,

I have a question. What glue do we use to fix the woodruff key to the slot, any idea?

Also I have heard the Pulsar classic key is a perfect fit. does anybody know any other bike from where this can be swapped?
