Hello ppl
i have a pulsar 180 v1. My bike seems to be sluggish post 100kmph ACT other p180's. And the top speed is just abt 125kmph at 9000rpm. My friend's 180 does a 135 @ 9500(tried and tested by me).
What could be the matter? My bike's just run 10,000kms.
Pls help guys

Does the exhaust emit a whistling sound? Do the tappets make excessive noise?

No, not a whisteling sound per se, but at higher rpms makes a strained kindof sound, as if outta breath
And yes the tappets do make excessive noise(but only at high rpms)

another problem is that the bike hits the revlimiter at just 9000rpm in all gears except the 1st.(where it hits at 8000rpm). Is this the case wid other pulsars too?

Karizma speedos are not as erratic as the Pulsars'. Yeah, I had the same prob. in my 180 DTSi once. At 1100 kms or so. Was trying to max out, and misfired at about 8.5K RPM, in 4th. Blew a hole in the perforated pipes inside the exhaust cannister. Got the CDI, exhaust, and piston rings changed under warranty. When checked, the compression was slightly lower than usual, and the throttle sensor on the carb was erratic.

Of course, the Bajaj mechs are nincompoops, and I had to get it done in front of me. Heck, I had to even point out the flaws. Oh yeah, got the tappets done up too. Smooth after 4500 kms, and the engine opened up quite nicely after the 8000 km mark.

But then, under what pretext did u change the CDI? Coz the service guys dont know anything. What did u tell them, that they let u change the cdi and all?
I told them my prob, and they looked at me up to down like i was some alien. They said pulsars are not meant for 100+kmph. Morons
