Honda gearing up to launch TVS Scooty rival?
Japanese two-wheeler major Honda, is rumoured to be gearing up to launch a new scooter in India. This new offering is likely to be Honda's entry-level offering and will be positioned below the Activa. It is expected to be a rival for the TVS Scooty.
An image of the upcoming bike has surfaced on the internet. The scooter has a simple design with an apron that doubles as a front mud guard, a handlebar-mounted headlamp and turn indicators, and a contoured seat. At the rear, are a grab rail and a storage rack. The scooter is also seen with a telescopic fork front suspension, alloy wheels and drum brakes.
The scooter in the image resembles the SCR100 that is sold in China and Korea. The SCR100 is powered by a 100cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled petrol engine that develops 7 BHP and 8 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission.
More information on the scooter is awaited.

Re: Honda gearing up to launch TVS Scooty rival?
Seems like Honda is looking at further cementing its leadership position in the Scooter segment. An entry level offering was probably the only missing link in their scooter offerings. Will be interesting to see how they price this one.
