Honda two wheelers: 2015-16 game plan revealed
Honda two wheelers India has revealed its game plan for 2015-16. The brand is looking to expand both its product portfolio as well as the number of touch points. As it stands, Honda is operating at peak capacity levels at all three of its existing plants. Honda's fourth facility i.e. the world’s largest scooter plant is coming up in Vithalapur, Gujarat. It is scheduled to become operational in January 2016.
Honda plans to expand its presence in India in order to cater to future demand. Apart from boosting the brand’s production capacity to 64 lakh units per annum, Honda plans to increase its nationwide network to 4,600 touch points, with more focus on rural markets. The brand will also be offering the "last mile" rural customer support system with 20 mobile service vans and 825 service motorcycles.
It has also been confirmed that the Japanese automaker will launch 9 new product this year. The flagship CBR 650F will be sold through a Shop-In-Shop distribution format across 20 priority cities in India.
