To say that this morning ride of us was perfect would be an understatement. It was pleasant, surprising and thoroughly enjoyable for me.

Having started dot at 5:15, we entered lush green fields right after Bahadurgarh while the sun made it's presence known in the horizon. 4 lane highways, absolutely no traffic, dawn just about to break and three adrenalin charged exhausted notes - well, the roosters did have some unexpected company this morning.

Two's a company, three's a crowd? Not applicable for this one. The telepathy and camaraderie of the 3 of us proved to be inch perfect. Cent respect for the boys!

About to reach the destination, the navigation went dead and so did my network. Having navigational responsibilities on me, we had to reach the place, come what may. Turning back was out of question. After enquiring numerous villagers in broken Haryanvi, we found ourselves on a broken and battered road. Pagdandi is the apt Hindi word for it. The stretch was of almost 10 kilometres and turned out to be a great test of our biking skills. It was quite necessary though. Riding on the express-way all the time makes your rusted.
Dodging sheep and oxen, small rivulets, massive sand accumulations and enhancing our Haryanvi after every 2 kilometres, we finally reached the spot. And boy, was it worth the pain and trouble.

It first felt like a mirage. 'Wow' was probably the most spoken word for those initial 5 minutes. How could such a beautiful place exist in the middle of nowhere? With not a soul in sight except the 3 of us, the South wala Duke 390 led the way to the base of a old creaky watch tower. Parked our bikes and climbed up two storeys to the old watch tower. The view can be best described as enchanting. The last time I saw such a view and felt 'that' way was when I was a kid and visited the jungles every weekend. Silence. Just the chirruping of birds, many of them accompanied by the sound of the leaves reacting to the breeze. This was what we rode for.

We spent almost 45 minutes here. It's surprising, because normally people get bored of stuff like this and are more interested in finding the next fast food joint on the highway. For us 3, it was bliss.

With a heavy heart and a vow to ride to it again as soon as possible, we left the place and took a different route to Delhi, via Gurgaon. Had breakfast at a HTDC Resort which was a good example of how the government cons us in the name of a noisy Air Conditioner and stained tablecloths.

Riding through the heavy Gurgaon-Delhi traffic, my mind was flashing images of that beautiful place which I just had the pleasure of experiencing.
It was one of those very few places that has given me complete satisfaction and is bound to be cherished by me in the future.

I would also like to mention that me and Bhpian Mehuel swapped rides for around 40 kilometres. His RC390 drunk on 300V 15W50 Motul is a beast to ride with having a completely different tone to the exhaust and overall character of the bike. Brought back memories of me riding the Street Triple as both the bikes hypnotised me after 4k rpm. I'm not a corner craving guy, but the RC390 (fresh on Metzelers) made me lean, and lean so much that I realised that I was on a public road.

A ride well done. A day well spent. A company that is priceless.

Attaching some photos.

5. One of the best shots I've taken of her. Makes you realise how muscular the D390 is.

Thumbs up barca and kudos for finding this place. I still couldn't believe we were actually there.Truly mesmerising.

Besides the lake itself, it was quite a ride. Riding through those backlanes and villages was good for a change.

There is no doubt this place would be revisited. Hopefully soon

Beautiful looking place Barca. The roads were Duke territory weren't they? You and your bike would have felt at home on these roads. Well, the gang in B'lore as well went through muddy stretches on today's ride and as expected the dukes and S Triple were at home on these roads.

Good going man!

For sure, buddy. As sammyboy mentions, my talent of finding 'unconventional places' to ride to is still hale and hearty.

Yes. That's correct.

Indeed, Chief. I myself was surprised how quickly the Duke took to the sand like fish in water. Held it's feet really well. Although I'm certain my suspension must've hurled the choicest of abuses on me!

I saw the Bangalore ride photos and I'm extremely happy for you guys. Bhpian AnkurS also seems to have woken up from hibernation and finally do some weekend rides. I'm pleased to see Bhpians coming together and making a ride thoroughly successful. The quality always matters more than the quantity, as evident in the beautiful photos that you guys clicked.

P.S - I have a gut feeling, and I hope I'm wrong, but did my man Sojo on his Z800 require someone to tail him to bring him back to an intersection?

wow, Nice pics. And yeah - nothing like a bit of broken roads and off roading to get the boredom of expressways out of your system.

This weekend's ride was eventful - what with people doing a Solo and a bunch of burly bike raiding the narrow streets of KGF market.

Just got back into Delhi and my oh my, reading this post of barcalad, how much my Scrambler missed this outing. I have no doubt it must have been great fun.

Well done to all those who were there and I look forward to catching up with you all on the next one!

Absolutely, mate. Riding on dust trails is a welcome change and I find it very interesting. Because you have to be on your toes all the time.

I'm glad to know that. Well, that road can tempt even the sedate of riders to do a solo, I reckon. It's incredible.

Today's ride was something that can best be forgotten. I never experienced something like this ever in my life. Details of it can be found here (The KTM Duke 390 Ownership Experience Thread).

Off the scene for now. Need to recuperate, both physically and mentally.

As they say, of any incidence we have two choices. To curse the situation, timing, roads and what not and take nothing or to evolve as a better rider. I guess this is the day when we have choices to make n i hope that all my fellow riders evolve out of it.

I'm sorry to hear about this and wish everyone - man & machine, a speedy recovery.

What many don't realise is that post crash recovery is a physical as well as a mental process, so here's my $0.02 on it:

1)First 24 hours is all about relaxation. Your most comfy pillow, your fav. beverage, hot spa or entertainment - whatever works for you and helps you blunt the edges of the trauma.

2)When most inflammation has subsided (48 - 72 hours), do visit a FMT, chiropractor or a physio to rule out any internal injuries or blockages in motion in your body. Follow the exercise or stretching routine recommended by the specialist.

3)Add a breathing exercise or yoga to your exercise regime. This helps to calm the frayed edges.

4)Pick up some physical activity to get biking off the focus for a while. Footie, cricket, tennis - whatever works and is possible without impacting the injuries.

5)Before you decide to get back on your steed, introduce 30 mins of cycling into your routine. Helps a lot to 'get back in the groove'.

There, before you know it, you will be better than ever to hit the road again!

Good luck and Godspeed fellas!

Absolutely.

I shall remain ever grateful for you to attending to me immediately and attending to my wounds and cleaning off the blood.

My regard and respect for you has increased by leaps and bounds after today's accident.

Cheers.
