Default Hero HF Dawn 125 spied

A new version of the Hero HF Dawn motorcycle has been spotted. Called the Dawn 125, it is likely to be powered by the same 125cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is found in the Glamour. The unit produces 9 BHP and 10.30 Nm of torque and is mated to a 4-speed transmission.

The spy images suggest that like the HF Dawn 100, the 125 will get a round headlamp. It will also get a wind deflector. The fuel tank has been camouflaged, suggesting that it could be restyled. Certain parts like the tail piece and side cowl are borrowed from the Hero Glamour motorcycle.

Other features include a two-pot analogue instrument cluster, a full chain cover, a telescopic fork front suspension, dual shock absorbers at the rear and a steel luggage carrier.

The bike does not have disc brakes or alloy wheels, which indicates that Hero MotoCorp will position it as an entry-level offering. The company is likely to target rural buyers with it.

The Glamour has a 4-speed transmission if I remember correctly. Has Hero developed a new transmission unit finally?

I can also see a lot of rust in the steel parts and leaking shock absorbers.

It's high time Hero introduces something new. IMO Hero doesn't have the technical expertise or found a new partner like Honda. They still have a lot of potential. They are still mix and matching their old engines and parts from at least a decade back. Though understood that it is targeted for utility purposes and the rural market.

A more well balanced approach would be to make it look a little more polished something on the lines of the old Bajaj Boxer 150.

There is a Glamor bike at home and it is the most sluggish 125 cc around, crude and unrefined and doesn't even have decent mileage to justify the sub par performance - including the insipid looks.

Don't understand why Hero isn't making any radical efforts to launch a good rival to the Honda Shine or borrow the unit and underpinnings just the way it did with the 110cc Passion X Pro from the Dream Yuga series.

You are right. The Glamour has a 4-speed transmission. Error on my part.

Not a biker nor will i ride these, but the only time i am on a bike is sitting pillion, and this do look comfortable.

Apart from the usual single piece seats instead of the modern raised one, the footrest are also wide ones on both side (part of the saree guard).

A comfortable seat with wide footrest, instead of foot pegs. Pillion bliss

Seems like Dawn 125 is already launched in Angola, Africa. Doesn't look exactly same like the pictures above but would give a good idea about features as well as specifications. The Indian Dawn 125 could be a downgraded version of the international Dawn 125.
