Yeah. I agree with you there. Logically what you say makes sense. But, always VFM looking Indian in me always hopes for a good pricing. Yeah, I know

As rightly said by BHPians TnT 25 will be worthy competitor to KTM 200 and now long in the tooth CBR250. First thing first lets hope some one comes up with head-to-head shoot out between KTM Duke 200 and TnT 25, this will give the accurate measure of how the Italians have been going about in this segment with KTM already setting the benchmark.

The thing I like about Benelli is ( Apart from it being Italian) that they have not gone overboard with specs and pricing. TnT 25 offers great hardware like the USD forks, chassis and the no nonsense liquid cooled engine. All I need to know is how it'll fair in Indian road conditions.

I have experienced KTM's Duke-of-Hazard performance myself and was blown away by its sheer acceleration. Duke series will still be relevant even in the future with 250cc engines lining up. I hope they don't fiddle too much with at present aesthetics and bring up subtle facelifts in coming years.

My friend bought the TNT 300 a few months back and is extremely happy with his ride. Touch wood he hasn't had any problems and has been wanting me to get one as well.

I am waiting for the BMW and then would decide on my ride.

My friend booked the TNT 250. He wants to confirm the bike after he has a test ride, which will be tomorrow.

Any idea when the BMW is going to be launched? He's interested in that as well.

I have also booked a test ride for the TNT-25 @ : http://www.dskbenelli.com/book-a-test-ride.php

But they said that the test drive would happen from next week onwards only because of registration formalities

BMW/TVS is holding their cards close to their chest. But as per various reports it seems to be Q1-2016 ( March , probably ). I am also awaiting the release, seems an exciting time showdown of streetfighters in 2016, Yamaha MT 25 -- BMW and Benelli...

I made a casual visit to DSK Benelli showroom to check out Tnt 25.
Frankly the red edition was much better than the white one. It looked nice with typical Italian Styling, but when i decided to astride it, I looked rather overpowering Tnt 25 with my burlesque physique( more apparent as I went to the showroom straight from my Tennis practice).
Benelli TNT 25 launched in India at Rs. 1.68 lakh-dsc_0317.jpg
I looked for the On the road price and I was promptly given a printed quotation by the Sales guy:

Ex-Showroom : 1,78,000
Life Tax@14% : 25,157
Insurance : 8,700
Handling Charges :10,000

On Road Price 2,21,857

Though a test ride wasn't available, the friendly sales guy took me their sideyard of showroom and gave me a discrete very short ride of Tnt25.
I was disappointed with the exhaust note which sounded like a 150cc motorcycle. Power and Acceleration were not too satisfactory. Large saree guard needs to be badly taken off after registration process !!! An aftermarket exhaust is a must, which will increase the cost.
But Tnt 25 could give a challenge to KTM Duke 200, CBR 250..

Even I was baffled by Handling charges of Rs.10000. The sales guy could not even substantiate what handling charges meant !!!

Since this is a Benelli thread, may not be wise to discuss KTM Duke pricing. I have sent you a PM.

I rode the TNT 25 a week ago. I had high expectations from it but came away rather disappointed. The vibrations throughout the rev range are really bad. The vibes are felt everywhere from the handlebars to the seat. The engine though powerful on paper, doesn't feel that way. The only saving grace for it is the ride comfort which is very good.
I also got a chance to ride a Duke 200 right after the TNT 25 and it felt much better in every way except ride quality.
In my opinion, one should either opt for the Duke 200 and save good amount of cash. If you do want to spend close to 2 lakhs, going for the Mahindra Mojo or the Honda CBR250R or the KTM Duke 390 depending on the usage makes more sense.

Thank you!

The reason why I wanted to qoute the Katoom's pricing was to see the monetary difference and the associated VFM quotient

With the 390 at Rs 2.24 lac OTR, TNT25 makes absolutely no sense to me

There is another anomaly in Benelli Pricing:
Benelli 250: 2.22 lacs
Benelli 300: 3.60 lacs

For a difference of 50cc, you pay almost the price of a Duke 200

For me the only itch is to add an Italian motorcycle to my collection of Fiats and Vespas !!!

The differences go a little deeper than 50cc. The Benelli 300 is priced appropriately among its competitors (Ninja 300, Yamaha R3, and the like) because it has a twin cylinder engine. Twins are inherently more powerful than similar displacement singles and consequently, are slightly less fuel efficient.

Outside the country, the number of cylinders don't make much of a difference to the price of a bike, but in India, they do. The TNT25 has a single cylinder engine and this alone warrants the price difference. Not really a question of 50cc and Rs 140k.

Looks smoking hot with those gorgeous rear tyres. Price point of 1.68 lacs ex showroom with decent specs (250 CC, 28.5PS) looks mouth watering. In Karnataka it should come to on-road price of 1.9 to 2 lacs. Good for those wants to upgrade from their regular 150 or 200cc bikes. Will be a sure winner if Benelli can improve their sales and service network.
