Default Re: Aprilia SR 150 unveiled at the Auto Expo. EDIT: Priced at Rs. 65,000

Hello Everyone
I'd booked Aprilia SR 150 on 12-Nov from Square Auto.

Today they've called up to deposit entire amount.
The lot is arriving Wednesday and they'll do registration over Thursday/Friday and handover by Friday/Saturday.
I'm surprised that they quoted 45-60 days waiting time but I might get it in ~30 days

Wanted to know if there is any ready PDI checklist?
I am worried whether they will allow me to select a scooter from a lot for PDI before registration.
Being cynical, I worry that they shouldn't register any old/rejected scooter (or test drive vehicle) after receiving full payment.

Thanks

Congrats! Its a lovely little ride. I've managed to clock in 400 km on mine. It seems to have settled in a little bit - especially the suspension.

Here's what I checked
1. Engine oil level
2. Brake oil level
3. Tool kit (or whatever they want to call it, spanner case) and first aid kit
4. Figured how to remove the front and rear tire - just in case.
5. Scratches and paint quality
6. Tire manufacturing year
7. Seat and handlebar locks
8. All the electricals working

There isn't much else that you can check in the vehicle in such a short time. If possible, carry a litre of fuel with you.

Aprilia are rather dumb in giving something like 700 ml fuel in the bike when they give delivery. Else head straight to the fuel station after taking delivery (before the temple :P)

PS - the fuel tank filler is really small and barely allows the dispenser nozzle to go in. But its prone to catch air and fuel gushes out when you top up. So be mindful of that when filling up.

Got the RVMs changed to the Chrome Vespa ones day before yesterday.

1) The Chrome ones are very heavy compared to the ones that came off. Through the coverage is slightly better.
2) The nut/bolt into which the RVM screws into(~1 inch deep) had to be replaced with a bigger one as it was not deep enough to accommodate the Chrome RVMs.

Point behind posting this-
1) The RVMs cost 700 at the Vespa Service center, but they are the very same ones that come on the Access 125 anniversary edition. Getting the Suzuki ones may just cut down the cost to half.
2) As the Suzuki ones fit, it should be possible to fit any scooters' RVMs.

What is the full tank on it please. Didn't see the info anywhere

Isn't there a vent pipe in it ? If not that's very strange. Is this the case with current Vespa as well?

I think its somewhere close to 6 litres. Its probably there in the owners manual.
There may be a vent pipe, but it cant deal with the amount of fuel that gushes out of a regular dispenser nozzle. I dont know about vespas. Will check out on a friend's bike and get back to the forum.

Will filling in the fuel using the 'slow speed' setting in the dispenser help?

The brochure mentions the fuel tank capacity to be 6.5 litres.

Yes that would be the right thing to do. You are correct about the tank capacity.

Here is the mileage that I got so far. Mostly driven in light/no traffic with a light throttle.

Just wondering can folding footrests be attached to the body in the front ? These can be used to rest feet if the footrest is too narrow or when you have some luggage on the footrest.
Also, what is the recommended tyre pressure written on the bike ? People say the ride is a bit hard but as we know dealers often overinflate the tyres of cars and bikes in their stockyard

If the front area is full you could try sitting a bit behind and using the rear footrest instead.

Hi Everyone,
I booked my SR150 at JMB Motors, Chennai, more than a month back. Last Monday it was delivered. I paid 77,950 but the invoiced amount was only 68,479. Is this a normal practice?

I got a front number plate holder fixed yesterday but i guess the service centre guys messed up the position an orientation.

Has anyone got a front number plate holder fixed? Can anyone share the pic of the precise position?

A front number plate spoils the look. A white sticker with black numbers on the front beak is the ideal location. The space on the handle bar cowl is also fine.

@Rajiv1612 - Not an option. If a holder is not installed the RTO folks will rivet the number plate directly on body.

Sorry, which RTO is it? I got mine registered through dealer from Poonamallee RTO in Chennai. They gave the registration number which I got stickered. That's why I gave you this suggestion.
