Huh?
If you buy them you're polluting more. If you don't buy them the manufacturer will be forced to convert to bs4 or scrap or export.
Think before you comment.

Now that people are buying our BS3 vehicles like mad, what will be the impact in the next couple of years. Is it possible that the government can ask or rather force us to scrap our existing vehicles. This is like DeMo for cars and bikes.

If I buy a used BS 3 car for a lower price, is there a risk of government banning it in the next couple of years?

All the dealers in Noida as well have almost pulled down the shutters, reason, inventory being sold out last evening itself.

My question is, only the dealer inventory is over, what about the inventory parked at the manufacturing plants? How can one get his hands on that?

Not being critical but saw a Honda's revolutionary NAVI yesterday.

Honda had big targets for Navi but it didn't do wonders till this fire sale.

It has become more of a niche product like Nano.

Just a day to initiate the movement of two wheeler from stock warehouse to dealer is too short a time. There is also a lot of paper work in addition to the logistics problem. Even if a OEM manages to do Just-In-Time kind of a delivery for dealers, only the nearby ones to the OEM will get benefited.

I have heard that big dealers with multiple showrooms i n Pune have shown sale of 3-5 2 wheelers against the names of their staff and families etc. The idea seems to be sell them at a lesser discount later i guess.

Navi did well in the beginning but to me its way overpriced at least by 10000 rupees.
One good thing is Activa's engine.

Their bikes are all BS-IV compliant. So no discounts.

No, such a drastic decision will not be taken by the government. Not any time in the near future. I would say you need not worry about this atleast for ten years or so, in my humble opinion.

Even if such a decision is taken, first the target will be vehicles which have crossed their life time i.e. vehicles that are more than 15 years old. The phasing out will start with BSII vehicles first. That too commercial vehicles, in particular diesels, will face the axe first. Then it may be extended to private vehicles in a phased manner.

Even then I suppose, there will be provisions for keeping and running older vehicles. But it will come at a premium like paying excess green taxes to the government.

And there will be restrictions imposed like the vehicles should not be used in city limits, the vehicles can be used as collector/classic/antique items with restrictions on running for a limited time, distance etc.

Otherwise what will happen to all our classic cars and bikes that our Team-BHPians and other auto enthusiasts have in this country? There has got to be some way out.

I have a 1990 RE, which I love dearly and wish to keep for life.

Cheers! Love and Live to Drive !!

Yes this is the case and I have seen it happening. This type of dealing is seen mostly for the premium category bikes. Either the dealer is invoicing the bike in his name or his trusted employee's name. But this was done mostly for the bikes which are difficult to sell or did not get any inquiries as of yesterday.

"sell later" as used vehicle? I hope the vehicle once invoiced cannot be rolled back or re-invoiced to other.
