Hahaha! Thankyou V12!

I am planning to retrofit the slipper clutch (heard it is just 8k). Other than that I fancy a powertronics piggyback ecu but not anytime soon though.

@Vignesh Upgrading to 390 is the best thing you can do now, take advantage of the depreciation. Why do you even need a windshield for a bike that slow ?

Thank you Niranjan. SSB, Vignesh just posted the expansion.
Guess we are offending a whole lot of Duke 200 owners by naming his duke like that.

Thank you Shashi!

I test rode the Dominar 400.

It is the bike for someone who wants something more comfortable and faster than a CBR 250R/ Bullet 500/ Mojo 300, something that handles quite good and sounds great!

It is terrific vfm, more than the Duke 390. It isnt as raw nor wild nor soulful like the 390, but it is faster than almost everything in the price range within 2 lakhs.
It has slipper clutch, ABS, LED lamps, a very useful pillion seat (as Vivek said) and it feels like a big bike. Paint quality is top notch.

Brakes are not very impressive, and at the end of the day, it still felt like a pulsar to me (my 3 year experience with Pulsar 200 NS was not that great). If you ask me, there is nothing better than Dominar 400 at the pricepoint if you are into touring.

If you want to have fun, Dominar would do that too, but Duke 390 is just leagues ahead!

Congrats Prasanna. Nice review. Seems you are enjoying the bike much more than CBR. Hope to get the 2017 Duke once it is available for resale.

Enjoy your beast.

Completed 600 km since last update

Absence of visor means that I am able to maintain almost the same average speed on my Duke 390 as I did on my CBR 250R on the highways.

The first service done after my ownership. Damages 2750 bucks. The cost is on par with my CBR 250R.

The bike feels smoother and younger after the service. Replaced fuel and oil filter. I usually clean and lube the chain myself. I wanted to see if KTM Trichy is professional in it, but sadly like Honda service, its "pour diesel, wipe it, spray lube uncontrollably and voila, its done"!

But KTM Trichy were prompt and overall a better experience than Honda SVC.

Have you ridden it in city traffic ? If yes, does it heat up and how much ? Does it become uncomfortable for the rider ?

Lovely, Prasanna. It was a joy indeed sifting through threads and then reading your 42 year old virgin story. And boy, those twisties do aptly earn their name, Mountain of Death. Too much misinformed motorists, take way too much for granted on a narrow road setup like this.

One's gotta be extremely careful, as one can never judge which janthu is coming on the opposite lane. And appreciate the peace of mind to that Splendor junkie, what was he thinking after all! Doing slaloms!

Cheers!

Awesome footage! I liked the lines you took - enter wide, finish tight

Its because of this that you were able to spot trouble in time and take evasive action

Look forward to more from you
