What are the future offerings from bike manufacturers? Let's play a guessing game and vote on likely future releases. Here are some ideas to get us started, feel free to add your own suggestions:

* Aprillia RSV 0.014 with enticing optional extras like a horn that blasts your favourite Bollywood song

* Triumph Bonneville city commuter edition, 85 cc, with complementary "DAD'S GIFT" sticker

* Ducati Panigale 125 cc touring scooter with optional extras like stylish Italian-designed stepney

* Honda Goldwing-Navi, 50cc, with innovative built-in bicycle pedals to save petrol and/or for use when going over speedbreakers / uphill climbs

* MV Augusta Brutale 109 (not to be confused with the 1090) hybrid bicycle, with optional baseball cards to place in wheel spokes to create real motorcycle sound or your choice of cargo basket

* Kawasaki Ninja 12 cc roller skates with built-in motors for up to three minutes of use

Vote now!

The Ugliest motorcycle ever award winner for sure.
IMHO the Karizma looks very handsome compared to this monstrosity.
The proportions of a cruiser are definitely not there, and no matter what color it is launched in, the "fairing" of the "Muscle Cruiser" will be its biggest drawback.
But Indians being Indians will definitely buy this albeit in lesser numbers because being exclusive sells in India.

"If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail."

For Suzuki only suitable locally manufactured engine available to keep price competitive is Gixxer based 150 cc (which makes this project economically viable). This will be more of a pseudo cruiser like erstwhile Yamaha Enticer.

I'm sure that at any point of time MSIL decides to enter Heavy vehicle business, the first thought they will have is to plunge 1.2 K-series or 1.3 Multijet in it.

Am I the only person here who thinks this bike actually looks really cool?

Quite honestly, Suzuki could have come up with a design like the UM Renegade. The reason people don't actually buy them in huge numbers is because people are not too sure about the reliability or the service support from UM Motors.
Lot of people seem to like them, and I have had to convince them that UM is actually of Chinese origin, and not American like they claim to be.

So a simple classic design like that with Suzuki's reliability and service back-up could have been a really good recipe, which could have challenged the Avenger 150's monopoly. But with this scooter-like Intruder, with over-sized plastic shrouds all around, they are just going to mock themselves.

I love the design, draws from the intruder and I'm not surprised that some people hate it too. Remember even the Hayabusa is a very polarizing design. What I feel they are doing wrong, is not bringing in the 150cc gsxr to compete with the R15, the 250cc gsxr and a 250cc version of this with the creamy smooth Inazuma engine. That would atleast give this puny 150cc cruiser some aspirational value IMO

I think the only problem with this bike is that it is too bulbous. Its all show and no go, and IMO that makes a motorcycle bad. If you look like a donkey but pull like a horse, no one is gonna think about your looks, but Suzuki seems to be literally doing this ->

Skinny Tyres on that bulbous body. This thing looks odd. 150cc engine.

A 250cc engine with meatier tyres would have done justice to the design. This is just dumb.

This is the real intruder for everyones reference

Bike Advice posted few more photos along with few other details out of which placement of Keyhole is much interesting:

The keyhole for the ignition is mounted over the Intruder-like headlamp and AHEAD of the front visor.
The split seats are low-set, handlebar is raised and the front foot pegs are moved forward. It will provide low-slung cruiser like seating posture.

This bike doesnt look that bad as most of people have commented. Let us first see some clear pics of the entire motorcycle.

Coming to the "too big and underpowered" argument, the gixxer 150 does NOT feel underpowered, even on highways, riding in legal speed limits.

There are people who do leh-ladakh in 8bhp 100cc commuters. It boils down to buyer's perspective. I feel a lot of people will like this bike

Speaking in lines of design, engine, valves, pistons, cranks, gearbox, clutch, oil and as such one needs to accept the fact that our country is filled by very common auto enthusiast (non-enthusiasts) who just use the automobiles for the sheer benefits of it - transportation. Such auto-enthusiasts have a very different perspective. They would not consider the design, keyhole or foot peg positioning, tire width and all those stuffs. In fact what appears as a downer to a real auto-enthusiast could very well be a great USP for them - something different from ordinary. And I feel the manufacturer has targeted this specific ignorant community with its 'unique' design with a delicious pricing.

Overall, this motorcycle is simply for the 'very common auto enthusiast' who is looking for an uncommon motorcycle with an affordable price tag and a generous mileage .

Very well said. To me it looks very comfortable to sit on. I was too excited with the launch news as there is lack of comfortable cruisers in our sporty hungry market. However I do wish they offer atleast a quarter litre variant as well.

Looks drool worthy! Will definitely kill the avengers of the bike world. It’s going to take Suzuki to greater heights like how Gixxer did.

Speaking of Gixxer, trust me that 150cc is a jewel! Is calm and composed in normal riding but can go mental if pushed hard. Extremely revv happy and is definitely more than adequate.

But does that engine suit this bike? I think not. This bike demands that Inazuma engine.

I hope the bulk of the motorcycle is put to good use, i.e bigger fuel tank and practical storage space. If so then it would be a no brainer to opt for this over even bigger alternatives simply considering its substantial low end oomph!

For those who're not aware displacement does matter but what matters more is the way power/torque it put out, at times a Hero Hunk may outperform a Pulsar 220 or Pulsar 200NS or even a CBR250R, so I believe it would be best to keep our reservations aside until real world reviews are out.
