Default Which bike I should go in for (I already have a Shogun)

Hi All,
I own a 1995 Suzuki shogun and wanted to buy another bike.
All of you know that shogun is a real pleasure to drive.
Just wanted to know your thoughts about the bike you think that exists today which can come somewhere near to shogun.

Thanks in advance,
rb2399.

No where as new... Search for well- maintained second hand ones (though hard to find)... Its worth the search...

If you would want real performance from a new 4-stroke... Go in for the Pulsar 200 DTSi...

Or wait for the 220 DTS-Fi to be launched all over India (It is already being sold in Pune)... Will give you 45- 50 mileage on mild driving (As said by owners.. There is a thread given here in Tbhp too), and a top speed of approximately 135kmph...

Hey rb2399, try looking for a Yamaha Rx 100 probably 89 make and keep it stock, great ride, will fit the budget too, Approximately between 9-14 k and just a bit of servicing and will run cooool. Or as quoted by 2strokejunkie Go for Rx135 5 speed.

Pulsar .

RX and RD may have problem with spares and service in the long run.(Those Castrol service centers in Bangalore said they will not take 2 strokes anymore!)

Ditto!

BTW, RX100/135 doesn't make any sense for someone, who is already owning a Shogun. Recommending RX100 is rather an insult

You got really tough choice here. Current crop of 4stroke bikes is really good with better top speeds but still not way ahead of Shogun in terms of performance. Unfortunately, only one which can be real next step to Shogun is RD350. But it's too old now and difficult or near impossibly to get a good one.

The only bikes which I can suggest you are Bajaj Boxer CT/AT or Platina. It's tough to beat Shogun with performance, so beat it with mileage.

Pulsar 200, pulsar 220, karizma, bullet 350/500, used comet gt.

I think for a 2 Stroke user a karizma or a pulsar wont make sense (Its my opinion coz i own a RXZ), dude you wont feel that punch which you can get with your shogun, i suggest you should go for a RD, or Comet but dont think of ZMA or pulsar.

will cost roughly around 5 lacs+,...instead go for hyosung comet B'coz it's got descent power 27BHP ..good for city as well as highway ride...i think purchasing superbike in india is not good idea.....( U can't ride SBK on regular basis..full speed as u could ride other bike's...that's the key point M8, so go for the bike so that u can ride it freely)...that's for sure the thrill & frill superbike will provide no other 2 wheeler can provide ...but anyway it's ultimately ur decision that will count

U own one of the best two strokers ever India seen !! So 135 or any other two stroke is not a better option. U can go for a pulsar for better economy and I always prefer 150 coz of better fuel consumption. 180 is also not a wise suggestion coz it will never give the feel of a Shogun and not very good in terms of fuel efficiency( u may get an extra 8-10 kmpl). But riding comfort and better instrumentation and luxuries like self starter ,and better night vision etc can be attained if u move to a 180 or any other modern bike.
