Hey! Guys, I'm new here and this would be my first post on any kinda forum. Been to a lot of them but haven't posted EVER. I'm just glad to sit back and learn. I do understand guys like me are frowned upon. But hey! why would anyone feel bad if someone let them be in the spotlight and we are willing to listen?
Either way coming back to the topic of this thread. I own 2 bikes. Pop never bought me a bike, thought I was too reckless and irresponsible to own a bike. Had to start to earn to buy a bike for myself. I"m glad that it worked out that way. I proberbly needed the time to realise that I had a head over my shoulders.
Here Goes :
JAN 2005 - Dream becomes a reality - I have a bike of my own.
A Jenny Grey Honda Unicorn.
December 2005 - Picked up my friends 1998 4 speed RXZ. She's still being worked on at the moment. Just got her engine rebored. She should be ready to let me mount her by today evening.
These are my two machines and they are my second family.

Did they have a Sleek back in 1997. I thought production had stopped by then.

Feels great to be in the company of fellow petrol heads who do great things with 2 wheels between their legs. My dad and bro and myself ride and own 6 bikes, all of which have names. Here they are:
1. Learnt to ride on my dad's 1962 JAWA 250cc. We still have it, she's in pristine condition. Totally original and has no Yezdi parts on her. She's called "Betsy" and was named by my dad back when he bought her when he was in college.
2. Rode a Bajaj M80 Stepthru when I was doing my engineering back in Pune. Used to call her Matty and have done crazy things like flee from pursuing cops on Bajaj Boxers. When the cops did close in, my hostel room mate and myself used to stop, carry the bike over the divider and then ride back in the opposite direction only to see the cop hurl abuses as he sees us speed back on the opposite lane. I bought her second hand for 6000 and sold her to the guy who used to supply milk to our hostel for 6000 and 2 packets of Goldflake lights!
3. A 1980 Royal Enfield 350cc Bullet. She's called "Honey" and she's my touring companion.
4. A 1950 BSA C11G Plunger 250cc single seater with sprung seat. She's called Granny and a treat to both the eyes and senses.
5. A 1983 Yamaha RD 350 (LT) which is fitted with expansion chambers, Japanese teflon coated pistons, ignition coil mods to pump out a stronger spark, points converted to CDI. She's called "Fastey".
6. A 1989 Honda CBR400F3 Endurance 4 cylinder baby thats called "Beastey". She handles like a beaut and though not as peppy as the RD (courtesy, the RD's two stroke power delivery), she's got a very healthy decent top speed.
7. A 1949-50 Matchless G3L 350cc single cylinder bike that was decommisioned from the Indian army in 1953. I bought it for a song and she had been rusting in a corner for almost a decade. I managed to free the siezed piston and started her but then a couple of days later, the 26th July floods screwed everything back to square one. I'm currently getting all the parts together before I get her tin work sorted out and painted an awesome matt olive drab colour! SUPER!
U see, my dad and elder bro are bike freaks too. Thats how my family owns 6 bikes with only three members who ride the bikes. And the fourth (my mom) loves riding pillion.

Well, in addition, we own a 1989 Fiat Padmini thats done 90000 kilometers and the engine hasnt been opened even once. She still sings in tune and she's the car I learnt to drive on. Though most of u guys might shrivel up when I say this, I really enjoy driving her around. We also own a TATA Indica (diesel) and quite frankly, apart from the fuel consumption, the car is a disaster.

I'm more of a car freak than a biker.

But I own a Kawasaki Caliber (old model) for the ocassional outing.
