Default RD350 or Aquila?????

Both bikes are poles apart. But both are good bikes.

RD350 is tough to maintain but Aquila is equally expensive.

I am getting a 66HT for 30K while I am getting the Aquila for 70K.

I am going to keep the bike for about 4 months just for the joy of driving.

Help me out.

I love the RD350, but, it's an old school bike and requires a lot of patience to live with. If you want to use the bike for just 4 months, make sure it's in very good shape, else, you'll spend more than 3 months out of those 4 at your mechanic's. You also need to be a D-I-Y person to own an RD.
The Aquila is a comparatively modern machine and won't need frequent repairs.
If you just want a bike for kicks, the smaller RX100 and RX135 can still be pretty exciting and won't be too hard on your pocket either.

If you are not buying the RD there are many who would pounce on it for that price . It should read 86 HT I believe.

Ye, 30k is like cheap, but make sure it's well maintained. As Aditya suggested, get a RX 100 for 10-11k and spend abt 3k on it and trust me it will be one of the best bikes to be on.

If the RD350 is cheap for 30K the Aquila is even more cheaper for 70K. Pick the Aquila, atleast you will get the spares.

Joy of riding? Then why the comparison? RD it is. Hands down. The aquila is only for tourers. Got long distances to cover? Want something comfier than the eliminator with extra/reserve power? Aquila it is.

BTW, where's this RD? Gimme a buzz if you're not interested; because I am.

Yeah its the RD hands down.

But its only for four months? buy the aquila or probably a comet, then you can spend those months enjoying your bike. RD takes a lot more dedication that you think.

For 4 months usage ill suggest go for Aqulia, as it may be possible that u need to wait for year or two for RD parts .

Aquila for 70K? There is an Aquila for sale with 3500 kms on the odo, asking for 1.70L.

Coming back to the topic, its Aquila between the two.

hmmm, I am leaning more towards the RD. But would it be a problem in getting the papers transferred as its a 86 model 2-stroke? I suppose one needs to get the papers repassed again every 15 years. spending 70K for 4 months doesnt seem justified enough. (neither is spending 30K :P)

All those who are interested I have seen 4 rd's. Except one which is in baaad shape I can get info on others if you people are interested.
