Alright, some updates. The Ninja to be launched is a Euro spec one with 33 horses & FI

From what I got to know, the price is a very heavily guarded secret.

The Bike has brilliant handling & it does very high speeds

More than outright max speed, it's the way that it reaches it that matters.

Wow !! I hardly visit the motorbikes section here BUT this just caught my eye and I completed reading all 21 pages this last hour.

And Am I Drooling ?? Yes Yes Yes I am !!

Never have I ever made an instant decision or an immediate buy since I got married BUT this thread has me convinced and I am going for it and buying a BLACK NINJA 250 on 7th October ( or at least booking it ).

Yes, the only decision ruiner would be if the pricing is above 2 lacs. If what some sites say that it will be priced at 1.5 - 2.00 lacs I am for it.

And I have a very strong intuition this time that this bike would have a shocker of a price ( say something like 1.5 - 1.75 lacs ex showroom ) Now that is called hopeful dreams.

By the way I just announced at home to the wifey and everyone else that I am buying a bike and they are calling me crazy, it's a holiday today after all !!

Hmmm

Time to say bye to my R15?

I'll wait till I hear its price. Anything in 2s (not 2.99) should be ok. (after considering a optimistic resale of R15)

It is all about pricing now...

@sammyboy, what say?

The Ninja 250 that I rode reached about that, 110mph. It will do 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds or so. Not fast, but fast enough for road use.

You think 0-60mph in 5.5 not fast ? - Do you ride a Busa?

I think using mph in this forum is not a great idea though (even though I see you are from US).

Amen...! Just about useful enough to ride around on Indian roads (more twisties, less of sweepers and straights). It's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. From personal experience, of course.

If the bike gets launched at that price, you're my new astrologer..!! Needless to say, at that price, Bajaj'll get another mad-arse customer too.

P.s - Just remembered that I read that Bajaj's going the SKD route for the Ninja...Hm....

I ride a Ninja ZX-6R, so I am kinda' spoiled by the speed and power of it, but I still think the 250R is just as fun. Oh, and I'll try to use more of the metric system here, sorry about that.

I agree, and while the 250 is 'slow' compared to a ZX-6R, ZX-10R or a Hayabusa, it's still fast enough to get an inexperienced rider into trouble fairly quick. The 250's 6-speed transmission has very close ratios, so you'll shift thru the gears very quickly. I really like this, since this is the way true sportbikes are and it makes it very useful on twisty roads.

Power delivery on the 250 seems sluggish at very first, but once you get past 6000 rpm, it takes off nicely. As long as you keep the 250R around 8000 rpm, you'll be really happy with its performance. As you know, it's much lighter than a 600 or 1000cc class bike while being close to them in physical size, which makes the 250 a lot of fun to ride.

Hey Rohit, are they going to come in green ? IMHO it is looking more HH. That explains all those mods on the ZMA.
