Default Karizma - Long Riding

Guys,
I just joined the group a few days ago. I wanted to just to tell you guys about my bike the KARIZMA. Its a fantastic bike on th highway. Recently on my trip to Mangalore from Bangalore which is around 360km I was able to clock speeds of 145Km/hr on the beauty. I feel the Karizma is truly a beauty. I coverered the stretch in just 6hrs. Any suggestions for simple make overs for my bike. I am also interested in knowing any guys having similar craze to ride a lot.

That's an average of 60kmph, pretty good for an indian bike. BTW, how'z the Blore-Mlore road now? Last time i went on that stretch, they had tarred the roads and they were silky smooth.

Just love that road for the challenging tight turns it offers, especially on the ghat section.

A dream team-bhp trip would be Blore-Mlore-Goa, stay there for a few days and then get back to Blore using the Goa-Hubli(for that awesome hubli-ankola road)-Blore.

The first makeover I'd suggest is an upgrade to 55/60watt headlight bulb, preferrably a Philips H4, as lighting is the most crucial aspect while riding, if its night driving. Second upgrade for the Karizma would be the tire. Switch over to a 120/90 rear tire, a must and should. I will shortly be switching to a 120/90 tire for my bike. Now, you can start looking into changing over to K&N high flow air filter for an added punch but, this is easier than said!!!!!!

A 120/90 is too high a profile. I suggest a 120/80 which would be perfect.

I don't think Karizma can do anything more than 125 kmph, it may be due to the speedo error.

Yeah even in the mags i think its published 125 kmph is true top speed...so 145 can be attributed to the speedo error.

wat specs do the stock headlamps have.to fit a bulb with higher wattage u will have to modify your coil.

and the k&n will definitely help you.

Stock lamps were low output 35/35 watts, I took it out and put in a 55/60W H4 bulb, no problems so far even during a long run from Pondichery(320kms). Is there a need to upgrade the coil??? Do let me know.

Cheers

Right, 120/90 is too high a profile, I agree. But, that is the only profile I've seen here in B'lore. Do you know of a dealer who would have 120/80 or even a slightly low profile tyre here in B'lore?? cause I want to reduce the rear ride height, its too high!!!!
