Congrats Tumbler and ms001 on your new rides. Do post pics and definitely your report will be quite closely followed by most people as many might plan to own it.

Was wondering how R15 a 150cc bike can produce 20+bhp while ZMA being 220cc produces 20bhp.. Is there something missing or my facts are not correct here??

Also for a R15 150cc bike it costs 110,000 ORP,, any logic behind this

The R15 produces 17bhp, while if my memory serves me right the ZMA produces 18. This is entirely possible. In fact, a 150cc engine can be tuned to produce much much more. The 125cc class bikes in MotoGP have a top speed around 220-230kmph. The power produced depends on compression ratio, cooling, fuel used, gearing and many other factors.

Thanks PhrozenFire! But what about the cost of the 150cc R15.. is it justified??

The frame, the chasis design and many other components are all revolutionary for the Indian bike market, the likes of which haven't been seen before. So the cost does go up. I think its important to see beyond the mere 'cc' figures and look at the bike as a whole.
Whether or not you get enough bang for your buck, well, just ask the guys on this thread who've bought one! They seem to be entirely satisfied with the overall package that they are getting for 1.1L . Many of them even bought it without even taking it for a test ride! Thats faith!

Both the R15 and the ZMA produce the same power - 17PS which is about 16.66BHP (1PS=0.98BHP)

ZMA engine is a very under stressed engine producing only 17PS from 223cc while the Pulsar 180 had almost same power form 180cc...and then the RTR Fi is also closer with 15.9Ps from 160cc.

So 17PS from a 150cc is not too bad. I know people expected 20PS plus..but look ...the 150cc on hand now is producing more power than the P180,RTRfi, and its the same as the ZMA. Of course the P200 and P220 have a bit more (18 and 20PS respectively) but you couldn't be too disappointed with this.

, theres much more to a bike than just cubic capacity ,R 1 5 is unlike any other bike on indian roads, it is truely a revolution in the biking world, it is miles ahead from any other bike produced in india , and i think the price is justified , unless you ride the bike you may not realize it, so go ahead get a test ride and decide for yourself is it justified or needs to be more expensive ,
as far as im concerned , being a owner i can say it is pure value for money.
