Today i found this repor in The Hindu. What they have written down!!
Yamaha R15 is turbo charged intercooling (what is that??). 20 bhp, 40kmpla, 160CC etc etc. Hindu editing has gone for a toss..
Hindu has bumped up the figures. Also provided a turbo charger!!

OT: at last we have one stock bike looking like a racing bike and now there are so many fingers pointed and its too over hyped too!

He has mentioned the name. Its the 'Hindu'.

I saw two R15's at Carter road yesterday. One Blue and the other one was Black. First sightings of the bike in Bombay.

Yesterday saw one teen near Agara lake Junction in Black R15 nice looking bike looks like designed for teens , just after that saw one R1 and there you can make it out the difference between kids toy and mens toy, R15 dosent makes any roars its just 4 stroke putter putter and R1 wwwwrrrrrrrrrrooooooommmmmmmmm.
Anyways good start for indian bike scene hope very soon others will also join the 150 cc SBK war and adding few more CC probably few more cylinders.

Definitely a R15 cannot be compared even remotely to a R1 . I certainly feel that launching R15 is only a starting phase of Yamaha's long term plans for India. The price range, the durability of such a build and all is certainly a test for the manufacturer to provide a launchpad for higher CC's in the future.

First spotting by me on the road yesterday. The R1-5 looked pretty ordinary from the rear. The exhaust note was ho-hum, similar to most 4-strokers in the country. Looks great from the front. Blue color really suits the bike.

As mentioned many times, the rear tyre looks a bit skinny, but I guess it does the job well because the handling seemingly is almost flawless.

Its upto Yamaha to see what best they can do to the R1-5 for it to be more appealing to the masses. Though, it would be tough to sell it to the masses for the premium it commands.

Took a short ride on a blue R15 a couple of days ago. Pretty nice look, with good technology and features. I liked the nice-feel gearbox too.
But..... I expected it to take off like its pants were on fire. I did not quite thrash it, but the response was somewhat docile. I was expecting it to go like a 150cc RX would.
Or maybe I just kept my expectations too high.

It does but for that you have to thrash it and the engine will thank you for it! Keep it above 7000 rpm and feel the action. The maximum power comes in at 8500 rpm

Found out something interesting on the R15, its a SOHC and not DOHC and also unlike the RTR its undersquare, long stroke engine where the bore is smaller than the stroke. Not quite a racing machine that we had thought it would be.
