Dude you lived on that RX.
I know. Thank you for taking away 15 years of my life in one night.

Sam, just read your passionate nostalgia on rx and it brought back my memories much faster than the rx.

the long struggle, fasting, fights, begging, pleasing i had to do to convince my parent to buy me a rx, the day i rode my black rx out of the showroom, always on the lookout for mods where possible, had to think of all sort of ways to get some money from my parents for modifications, though it was not major mods, but at that time everything was pure ecstasy.

tried to improve the headlight, put on 12v battery, changed the wiring, bulbs, magnet, doom everything but none worked and i was still happy. to give a sporty look, went to a welser and raised the back mud guard, i did so many things, always looking for a better idea to improve my bike's look and performance.

as you said, i was always on my bike, any distance any time any weather my rx was always there waiting for me to saddle and mount. it is all old story now, ever since my wife got conceived, started using the car and it is almost 5 years now and i very rarely take my rx anymore and it is also not in a usable condition.

incidentally, today i have just posted loooking for ideas on reviving my rx and your thread was sent by v12, thanks v12 and a lovely writeup sam.

You had to go on hunger strike for your bike? Ha! Totally worth it!

Default err...

[quote=Sam Kapasi;733810] Priya from my building loved bikes and bike rides. Her parents forbade it. I was 20 and she was 16. I'd ride 200m away and wait, she'd come running and we'd go off on these long bike rides. We got into trouble too, when her parents found out.

Priya was back from New York.OK, let's go together. I was going out with her after at least 10 years.

Priya! I would have slapped myself on the forehead if I didn't need my hands on the handle.

I turn around. Back at home she's stading at the door grinning. I don't need to tell her. It may have been 14 years ago but she knows what I'm doing on that RX. She runs up to the bike and jumps on. We ride in silence. I know she's 16 again in her head.

Err...a bit off-topic Sam, but I'm dying to know if there's a 'happily ever after' saga with Priya... sorry, dying of suspense...

No, lol but we're great friends.

As Iraghava said there's a happy ending with another Team-BHP member though, called TheOne®. Look for her, there are stories all over the forum

Default The 100.

This is a nice thread Sam. Its good to see so many fans of the lovely Rx100. I'm one of them too and I rebuilt my 1987 100 from scratch with all genuine Parts, many of them still with made in Japan labels.

Please see this thread to see the rebuild that took 20days flat.
