I came back after a short first ride and wanted to park on side stand. But the PUSHLEVER of the side stand is not visible from my stance. If the PUSHLEVER had a different stance or been longer by two inches, my report would have been shorter by two sentences.

Oh man the subtlety in bringing out the unergonomic part of the side stand lever. BRILLIANT!!

Thanks GTO for the Article and a quick intro of Dilip. He is a man of many words. Humorous and witty, reading all his reviews right now.

Thanks for the link Kiran.

Just read the review (comparo) of the Garware HYOSUNG GT650 V/S Bajaj KAWASAKi Ninja 650R and i was in splits.

Must read with all the hoopla of which bike is better than the other.

Finally Mr. Bam sums it up aptly:

As to looks, I make no comment: To each his own. Once you switch off the lights and it is totally dark, looks don’t matter, only performance and ‘feel’ matter. In total darkness Bipasha and Priyanka are visually identical, but different in their feel and performance. And I can only feel, not see, because I am blind.

from his site.. on wearing helmet and rear view mirrors he says..

"
Always wear a helmet, especially in rains. It not only keeps your hair dry, it also protects your numbskull on which your precious hair is growing. Remember, no numbskull, no hair. Skull is primary. Hair is secondary. You decide. SAE has found that there are 77% more accidents in rainy season than in summer, and also 43% more fatalities in rains. Also ensure that you have both rear view mirrors. They may LuuK like donkey’s EARs, but they are life savers. Remember, Donkeys live much longer than Racehorses! "

I remember reading an article in a Telugu weekly (Eenadu Sunday Mag) several years ago - which mentions his name and his ability to detect a problem by just listening to the engine hum/sound/noise. Is that true? I do not have the source now.

Did you know Mr. Bam was going to be sued by Hero Motors for a 100 Crore . He sent a hard-written reply to his lawyers. Never heard from Hero Motors after that. I'm sure even Hero's lawyers cracked up after reading the review in question.

GTO, the joke was definitely the 100 Crores part !! And Hero Motors for having thought of such a figure. I dont think Hero Motors would have had much to hold on to - at least for the simple reason that Dilip Bam gives every one the same medicine.

But would have loved to read Dilip Bam's reply, than the notice itself. Any chance of getting that ?

( I am not sure if it is in the 'source' link, because that link is not working for me)

Thumbs up re: The unassailable Dilip Bam! EDIT - Rest in peace!

Wow! What a thread! Got back memories of reading Dilip Bam's reviews. The one review that I particularly liked was that of the Diesel Bullet. The part that mentions that a cycle was ahead for the first 150 meters was too good! If I am not wrong, he had also commented about mileage of the Diesel Bullet as : "It is cheaper than walking."
