Default Where can I find a Yezdi Roadking?

I tried the used bike shops in VV Puram, Bangalore. No luck so far. Any other pointers?

Default bought a 1996 RK

Thanks for all the replies. My one week quest for a Roadking is now fulfilled.

I started off with a trip to VV puram last week. One consultant promised to find a decent bike, but didnt succeed. Next was a response to a Sulekha listing for a 1994 RK; looked fair. Restoration would have costed me about 10k (dent removal, paint, chrome, tires, etc). Put this on hold and headed to Addu's garage in Maruthi Seva Nagar/Jaya Bharath Nagar. He had Yezdis/Jawas in all sizes, shapes, colors and conditions. Didnt have anything ready for sale, but will have one early this week. Next, headed to Razak's HMS Bullet garage in Shivaji Nagar (behind the Meenakshi Temple). There I found a fully restored 1996 RK, with complete paperwork. Settled for about 19k, asked for mufflers to be installed, bought a helmet nearby and rode the bike home.

This needs two things: better tires and some chrome on the pillion handle. Will consider some lacquer coating, too. Everything else looks almost new; needs some running-in.

Rode it to work on Monday morning. Followed all the traffic rules. One Hyundai car with a VIP Pilot light (off) tried to knock me down from the wrong side! Some people were watching curiosly. Dont know if it was a specimen following the rules or the specimen bike. One guy in an auto wanted to know how I got a "new" Yezdi.

Fantastic! Looks like there's a growing Yezdi revival in Bengaluru.. we should all meet up, go for a ride somewhere in the mountains. I can't wait to get out of Bangalore traffic and take the Rk through the twisties!

Congratualtions on your aquisition!

Do upload some pictures!

I didnt mention it before but I am one real lucky guy. My good friend from school gifted me a 1981 Yezdi classic.

I drive it every weekend and recently also took it on a 100kms trip.

It does need restoration. gear box and clutch wire are the first thing. speedo, tyres and colour follow.

Thought I should share.

Congrats shapra. The yezdi is a beautiful bike. But 19k ?? Guess it is vintage value.

devarshi84,
Congrats on your acquisition. I have ridden a Yezdi classic CL-II, for a great deal before. Poor mileage, but who cares?

esteem_lover,
I know I overpaid. My other option was to buy a cheap one and restore it. Would have saved me 4-5k. But, I wanted something to ride urgently and didnt have the stomach to run after tinker, painter, chrome, lathe shop etc. I hope to keep this for man years, so the extra rupees should amortize cheaply
