Jayanta - I've been out of touch with the bike tyre market & offerings for a long time now so sorry but I really can't advise you on the options.

As for a good dealer, you can contact BK Tyres on 9810430202, Atul Kapoor.

Fortunately, i got a couple of minor parts from sahil, rest all are from jayna. Even my mechanic warned me against sahil, first i got the front and brake light switch from sahil, my mechanic asked me to return it and get it from jayna, then I bought it from jayna, the stuff was from minda, even though the parts from sahil were in yamaha sealed pack with logo, the stuff was local.

I was talking about the headlight dome for swaraj mazda , and sure we can meet up. You can call BK tyres and check with them if they can get the 19" Michelin, they are the authorized dealer for Michelin. They are in Lajpat Nagar 1.

Its Jayanta . I'll click some detailed pictures of the bike as the weather permits, waiting for a sunny day. The thread pattern is the same as in the picture.

The tyres are performing good, though I am no expert at benchmarking them. Bike feels much more firmly planted on the road.

Is it a good idea to use "Brasso" to polish and remove rust from the rims and mudguard ? Will it do more harm than good ?

it will give you good results but try to keep it away from the painted areas

ShakenSoul, the bike has come out really well! I was just watching the "Before" pic and everything or most of what was bad was replaced and gave way to something new and shiny. Keep it up. I hope my RX comes out well too.

Did you chrome plate the engine and wheels and put stainless steel spokes?!

Thanks V12.

As in the picture below, the engine parts that I have indicated have been "buffed", its not chrome plating. They polish the metal with some chemical I guess. The piston chamber or fins what you call it, could not be polished due to their position and design. It was paint. The rest also all are paint touchup including the spokes and front forks, wheel drum.
The rim and spokes are a little rusted which cannot be seen in the picture, so I plan to get them nickel plated soon.

Jayanta here are my opinions

1) The indicators are out of place it's not at all gelling with the looks.

2) What type of crashguard is that ? i didn't like the awkward curves in it.
i have installed a butterfly type design, just check out my bike pics.

Edit : What 2t oil are you using right now ?

1) Is it because its big or too long ?

2) The crashguard was installed by the mechanic :(

I'm not too sure about the 2T oil as it was filled by the mechanic, I think its castrol. Planning to switch to motul as everyone has said good things about it, but not been able to find it till now.

Also is it better to use the oil pump for 2T or mix it directly with petrol, one of my friend told me that its better to mix it directly with petrol as the engine runs much more smoother.

My replies in bold..

Both are the causes it is out of place.

2) The crashguard was installed by the mechanic :(

Please change it asap keep this one as a standby.

I'm not too sure about the 2T oil as it was filled by the mechanic, I think its castrol. Planning to switch to motul as everyone has said good things about it, but not been able to find it till now.

Please change it too motul 800 ester which costs 550/- per litre. since your bike is in the runnin period this the best medicene you can afford for your bike. also tell your mechanic to increase the oil pump ( autolube ) to its max coz loads of 2t oil is required when your bike is under runnin period. more carbon deposits on your piston leads to smoother ride.

Also is it better to use the oil pump for 2T or mix it directly with petrol, one of my friend told me that its better to mix it directly with petrol as the engine runs much more smoother.

Then why did yamaha provided oil pumps for the bikes are they nuts !

Also keep an eye on the 2t oil pipes the one which leads from the oil container to the pump. and the other which leads from the oil pump to the carburettor. the oil should flow freely there shouldn't be any air bubbles visible on any of the pipes.

Whenever i take the bike for a long ride i add 20 ml of motul ester 800 for every 1 litre of petrol. this way the engine will be buttersmooth you wont strain the engine and you can also rip, but smoke will be more, damn who cares for them on the highway.
