James barrels are done by one and only Ron, without cleaning the ports these barrels are waste. Disc is waiting to get in may be another two weeks, replacing full front thing with US spec forks, rim, rotor, axle, hub, caliper and master cylinder, UNI this weekend will go in with Biggeeeeeeeeer jets, flatties later on once the pocket allows me along with RZ reeds.
Thanks Ram, but to kick @$$ of other 4 jokes around in Rajdoot is priceless rather then Yamaha.
My next project of cafe racer will be sure having decails of Yamaha RD350.

good job on the bike ajay...has come out pretty neat. guess its worth the wait, patience and the money that you have pumped to it.

correct me if i am wrong, the garage looks like the one near siddaiah road and this shade and the quality of paint comes from the sarakki paint guy only i suppose.

I am on the same route getting the same colour with same rajdoot stickering instead of yamaha for my rd350 that is getting built.

i had this colour and stickering in mind (attached pic) but i doubt if anyone has this decals pattern in bangalore. Can you please share the sticker guy contact details.

Ajay, regarding the dics setup, will the OE caliper be as good as a new age caliper? It was a single piston caliper na?

Bike looks stunning Ajay. Good job!

I see you have gone for a complete original looks including the Rajdoot vs Yamaha stickering. My recomendation is for twin chrome mirrors like on the Bullet 500C and also the rear grab rail/carrier with shorter mud flaps!

Whats you take on using modern tire technology to improve its handling?

Thanks MPower for the inputs and this mirror is geniune Yamaha got it from Japan(NOS item) going to fit the other side once i'll fix the other pending things including rear grab rail, saree gurad, front mask etc.
New rubbers are going in along with complete change in front end(US spec disc break setup with mudguard, wheel, hub, fork pipes etc), Michelin at front and Pirelli SD at rear.
This bike feels like costilier then my car and i am **** scared to park anywhere outside.

awesome RD.s there.yes 2X is getting exotic now. so many man hours and effort must have gone into this bikes. original look is one thing , but the latest mod is to plonk in a FZ front end on thr RD. may need some mod to fix the OE mudguard tho. ajay you got to the yamaha brand ambassador. yamaha should highlight such personalities like the Ford way. enjoy life guys

you need to park these bikes in your bedroom !!

The blue RD350 is lovely - absolutely mindblowing restoration. The other, purple one, is also nice. I'm partial to bikes that retain the original looks

Ajay, congratulations on a most beautiful restoration!!! The Sarakki paint quality, as always, is just superb! Your attention to originality must be commended. Your bike is worth its weight in gold.

That said, any plans of sourcing the OEM fairing for the bike? It would add the final classic touch, and go with your helmet

Cheers
Rahul

Thanks Rahul and yes OE Firing or say mask is with me and its in plan to get it done coming weekends with remaining things which i mentioned in my past post.
BTW today got the CDi, UNI free flow filter, biggest jets installed on this bike and what a difference earlier she use to get stuck at 4000 RPM, now she starts pulling post 3500 RPM need to check the top end as didnt find any roads on way back to home from Ron's place.
CDi is the magic even after using 350+ size jet its able to burn the fuel easily, bike is running pretty cool no hot fumes from any side apart from exhaust pipes, can feel each n every beat now with crisp throttle response even though bike is stock apart from RDD cylinder work, head work, RDD crank, Chinoy filters and CDi.
Message to all RD owners either for stock fanatics or people running some CDi's, either be happy with your points or CDi and its maintenance and limited bandwidth(RPM range), hotter engine or just leave all this pain to RDD CDi and enjoy the full juice of your engines capacity that too without giving her any strain.

Default Re: Got RD350 HT after 4 years of wait.

Small update got her complete US front end, oil replaced to Motul 300V fully synthetic, Motul fully Synthetic 2T still waiting most probably this Saturday will get, few more cosmetic stuff will be getting in her soon as after US spec front end she is asking for Yamaha should be written on her tummy(gas tank) so going to plant pearl white tank, side shields and ears with US spec decals. These blue stuff will be moved to my LT which i'll be keeping as complete Indian spec stock.
Many people were asking about the performance of this break and even after being so old they rocks, normally the disc breaks what we get in our 150 cc Indian bikes works on double piston but they are pressed hydraulically only from one side of caliper but in this caliper both pistons are pressed from both side.
Front end is at least 1"-1.5" taller then our Indian RD's.
Forks are also pretty good the initial play is soft but after that it becomes hard so no issue during hard breaking which i felt in Karizma it simply pops in during hard breaking.

Hi,
Nice stuff mate, am also rebuilding my RD been a 7 year long trip so far. Hopefully this summer should be seeing the end of the restoration. However do appreciate your efforts and more importantly patience dealing with the mechanics and all the time consuming efforts which i understand is truly worth every bit of ordeal and pain.

Hoping to bump into you one of these days,
