Teflon coating is not recommended in team-bhp.
No one has been able to prove it as being effective.

Washing the bike clean every week using plain water is more than enough.

How much will it cost to replace an entire side, one side view mirror, side panel, side stand, one headlight?

Someone banged into me at the racetrack and hence the damage.

@a.ashokdurai: Hey pal, its not recommended to do teflon coating on the bike. You can take care of it by doing occasional wax polish treatment to keep it looking new. For more details you can search the forum.

@Arun, Yamaha never said that R15 is meant for skinny guysI'm 75 myself&I think the bike handles my weight pretty well. Though a belly resting on the tank wouldn't look good,, I can assure you it has no problems with carrying 2 heavy people.

Its called Yamalube&its a very good product. Motul is not recommended for R15.

The best thing would be to use the recommended oil appearing in the vehicle catalogue with a variation for thickness depending on riding conditions and habits. Synthetic oils definitely not recommended if not on the catalogue.

^^ Trust me it's not worth it, i've seen a couple of them and they do not look very good and does not fit in very well either. Contact Paras Yamha if you want one, they will order one for you.

hey,
I am new to team-bhp and the biking world(always been a car person). anyway i just booked my r-15 and am very excited about it. i have bought a MPA AGV helmet. I m planning to buy a jacket. Anything else i should buy or do? And i read about some chain lub problems with r-15's. How should i maintain my bike. Which lubricant should i buy.

Sorry but i am a little nervous. First bike and all.

Congrats man, way to start a New Year.

Also buy a knee guard and elbow guard, and after running in please please take the bike to a local race track cause that's where you'll learn the true potential of the bike.
Please read through this thread you will get all your answers.
