The Pants are at least 3"-4" bigger at the Waist due to which I haven't been able to wear them at all. About 2-3 of us faced similar issues regarding the Pant sizes & have sent them to Chennai for rectification. Rest of us are using them without any issues.

I will upload a few pics soon. You may get in touch with BBG via their FB page. Ciao.

Iam not saying BBG's suits are bad. They in fact felt pretty good. But we could make out the vast difference in Quality between BBG's and AGV sports budget suit, the bullet. The good part is the AGV would have stringent quality checks on all their suits. Where as BBG's quality whos to check?

1.3mm (body) to 1.4 mm (impact areas) whos to check that?
Advanced Safety Seam Stitching (ASSC) ?
YKK Zippers ? etc...etc

They all maybe made in the same country. But Quality and safety have to be seen first.

Do check out some of the latest Powerdrift vids doc, like the Benelli 899 review. Sagar is wearing the "Track Breed Gear" one piece suit

Edit - Not just here, but even in the states people have complained of their textile pants splitting up from the crotch. Their leathers are a different story though. Top notch stuff, hard to fault

Thank you for all the help guys.

I was aware of TBG at the time of discussing but am unsure of its quality level vs agvsport, bullet.

Finally i have rented a suit for this particular session from Apex Racing and will pick up an agvsport (as soon as new stock arrives) in my size for future track sessions.

Cheers

P.S. thank you for dropping by with the longer gloves @speedy. Will see if i get to make any use of it.

A couple of friends have not had very happy experiences with AGVs textile riding pants though. The fabric fraying and splitting and unravelling at the crotch at the stitch line. Same shop .....
The AGV starts at about 36k.

Check it out.

Its available in india through various dealers. Mainly Performance racing store in tardeo, mumbai.

Get your size suit and it should be a very comfortable suit once broken into. No complaints on this one so far.
Its the best starter suit in its category.

Anyone has purchased anything from bikegear.in ?

Are the products genuine and are they reliable ?

The range they have is impressive, to say the least.

Hello Riders,
In the mean time,
Rynox gears has launched a new riding jacket with Knox armours, the Asphalt! Launching at Rs. 6,450/- so finally the popular Helios has some worthy competition.

Moto Verse is the shop near NIBM right? If so I have seen his stuff. Not impressed unfortunately. Had gone to his shop only once, to check out his RJays jackets. He has a rule that you cannot enter his shop with your shoes on. Which is weird for a bike shop where many riders would be riding to with their riding boots.

Yes, near NIBM.
The pictures looked impressive but 'all that glitters is not gold.'

How's your Cramster K2K Enduro jacket doing? Any long term updates.
My Cramster Twister gloves serves me well but the stitches around the velcro has come off.
My Spartan Icarus is doing great still no issues except the summer heat but with the temperatures moderating I'm back to regular use.

Cheers

Hey Suraj - it sure is a good looking jacket. The price seems Ok too

But I wonder when the Indian gear manufacturers will wisen up to the fact that there are many other colours besides black / grey in which they can make their jackets & pants

All the more important to use lighter colours in a hot tropical country like ours. While lighter gear does get dirty, its not really a pain to wash your gear every other week. The best compromise IMO would be a silver jacket, although it may not look as "stealthy" as black

I don't have a Cramster K2K bro. Was looking at one quite some time back but ditched the idea.

Except for the Spartan stuff, I don't like either the fit or the quality of any other Indian stuff. And even the Spartan stuff, if I were to pay close to 7K for a jacket, why not simply pick up a clearance sale much better branded jacket either online or via someone coming here?

The Icarus makes sense to me personally as a light, daily use city "commuter/hot weather" jacket. Why do you find it hot? is it the position/coverage of mesh that's the culprit (its different from the higher Helios and lower Atlas)?

I used to have a Dri Rider jacket (Aussie). Now I wear a Brit RST as my jacket, and Dri Rider pants, and its top drawer quality. RST touring and Alpine* racing boots. Need new gloves. Got a Thor Impact Rig (brand new, unpacked) and Oxford Back Protector as well, though don't wear the latter too often.

The upper part of the arms are complete textile right up to the shoulder, in the heat with slow moving traffic you start sweating! Also with the adjustable straps closed, the mesh part is further reduced over the arms.
But on the move it's a breeze. Also with the back protector sticking to you under the backpack causes a lot of discomfort under the sun. I'm talking about office commute of ~20 kms then spending the rest of the day in the same attire!

But as I said with slight dip in mercury levels I'm quite comfortable now.

You should check out Rynox Gears also they are very promising but poor on inventory! Spartan (Aspida) is indeed good.

Cheers,
Surja

Thanks Surja.

That explains things really well. Helios in addition to the better armor also has a lot more mesh real estate. Your point on the back pad is spot on. Even with the vents zippere open on my RST, the back of my T shirt is soaked when I take my jacket off. Wearing dry fit inners helps tremndously (both tops and bottoms). You could carry a deo and a fresh change of shirt in your backpack.

The problem with Rynox in Pune is that there is one hole-in-the-wall type of store who is the "authorized dealer", and he is never open. Neither reachable on the given number.

Hey Doc,

Yeah you've to be lucky to see the Rynox store open! I use that KP lane as a shortcut to n fro my office route. Now it's a bit more regular. I went in only once during my jacket hunt days but there was only 2 sizes Small & XXL. I kept waiting... waiting and finally picked up the Spartan Icarus from Moto101. Then after 3 months Rynox kept calling... calling for their new GT Air mesh jacket!

I'm still interested in Rynox luggage bags and gloves, will get them when I need.

One more find for the riders here:

Performance racing store, Mumbai selling Joe Rocket - Ballistic Touring Boot Rs 9,500/- (Sells in USA for around 100$) Pretty decent for the price! What do you think riders?

Very good riding boots, atleast that's how I perceive from the specs. If you can get it through someone from abroad, nothing like it. Otherwise the price of shipping + import tax will be almost near to what we get at PRS, Bombay.

The new Asphalt does not look like a mesh jacket. If its textile, is it vented?

Does not look like it from the photo.

One advantage I saw of the Rynox GT Air versus the Spartan Icarus which you have is that the Rynox one comes with an extra quilted layer. Of course its also 700 bucks more than the Icarus, and you can pick up a quilted layer from Spartan separately (though they always seem to be out of stock on that).

What do you ride by the way?

Looks very decent for on bike wear. Might not be off bike though.
Any idea if PRS is keeping just this one from Joe Rocket or others too ?
Like the RX14 ?
