Hey Good to see dear old TVS50. It was an amazing moped and I remember my first try at motorized two wheeler was our TVS50 back in 1988 or 1986. I know ours was amongst the first batch of "TVS50 XL" to be distributed in Pune. The most noticable characteristic of the same as a rectangular headlamp.

It was far more reliable moped than Kinetic Luna available in those times, though m50 of Bajaj had fair amount of market share. Needless to say, after almost 10 years of its service, we upgraded to Scooty.

I must congratulate you to keeping it in the mint condition and kudos goes to you for the same.

Fantastic. The TVS 50 (and all its variants) are true workhorses. We still have a TVS Super Champ bought in 1996.

Anjan, your post brings back memories of my moped as well from school days. Had bought it in 86-87 and was the first 'fuel' driven vehicle that I owned :-)

Must say that you have maintained the TVS-50 very well and it looks spectacular even now.

Hi JayD Both automobiles owned by you(SAME MAKE AND MODEL) are 2 years newer to those owned by me! Its a great and rare coincidence.

Iron Wolf- Thanks for your nice words. I have been very sparingly using this moped. Till 1986 I used it regularly and then I got my first bike - a red Ind Suzuki!
maxj2005- thanks for your nice words-the pedal is a great saviour. I remember getting lots of sweat sometimes while pedalling it during bad luck spells!
egangsta thanks for your nice words-indeed this moped is with me as it is the first self- propelled vehicle I have ever bought!
speedzak thanks dear- yes it will be with me forever!just want your best wishes
rkavthekar Vow another TVS 50 fan emerges! Yes indeed, these mopeds are very solidly built!
hrag thanks for your nice comment.Hope to keep this one going on and on
khan_sultan its marvellous to see so many TVS 50 fans and ex or present owners! Thanks for your nice words!
I'll post some more pictures soon after doing some beauty and facial treatment on this moped!
Thanks again everyone for your inspiration that will keep this little thing going on and on!

anjan,

I know how it feels like having a moped like that.

Similar feelings i share when i restored my grandpas Luna,My thread is somewhere here on T-BHP.

I've driven this 50cc moped for quite sometime when my uncle owned it some years ago.

Its got the best straight line pickup man.

3 Cheers to you for treasuring it even now

Pavan Kadam and Nikhilb 2008 Thanks a lot . Pavan it still reaches 30kmph within just a few seconds but at the speeds above 40 (max speed 48 -50 kmph I believe) its a bit shaky.
Nikhilb as I explained earlier, I put this moped to its maximum use between 1983-86. The Ind-Suzuki that I bought in 1986 and the later two wheelers and cars took away the sole responsibility of this moped to transport me.

Congrats Anjan, you have really maintained it very well. It still looks much newer than most mopeds around. My hero puch would have also completed its 20th year had I kept it. Gave it to a friend in need in 96.
