Hi guys! I have a shogun and i'm HUNTING for the front visor some nut broke it. My nearest place is Kottyam or Cochin, but if any of you know a place Pls pick it up, i'll pay you and you can ship it to me. Also anybody who has gotten rid of the 'ignition key rattle' this buzzing bee sound that i have driven with for way too many years..Somebody said something about packing it with photo film i dunno if its gonna work. Just get the black ring a tight and put a drop or two of feviquick, your sorted. This stops the ring from getting loose, hence privent the ringing [easiest and cheapest way], getting parts for the bike was a pain when it was in production now it will be close to impossible.

As for the visor I don't think you'll get a new one.or do you get parts for shogun in kerala still ?

^^^But the ring dosen't seem to be loose on my bike. At least it dosen't turn when I try to rotate it. Will your method still help?

Would changing the lock help? But I dunno if I can even find a lock set for it...

The ringing sound can come from two places, either the actual keyhole and the black ring around it [ the method I mentioned helps] or the key chain.
So what is the sound emitting from? that's the main question. If it from the key chain than change it to softer one.
Vibration is something one has to live with on a two stroke single,
shogun in particular.

^^^Key chain noise I eliminated long ago... also most metal keychains spoil the paint/coating around the handlebar area. I used to use a shoe lace, and right now a leather keychain... so no noise from the keys.

The black plastic ring seems to be fairly tight fit, so I don't think that is the problem. There is no play anywhere in the area either.

Even removing the key altogether does not stop the irritating sound, so its not due to the key vibrating in the lock either.

That leaves the lock itself as the prime suspect. Now the funny thing is if I press around the keyhole with my finger, the noise stops!!

So just cant figure out from where exactly the irritating noise emanates... :( Changing the locks seems to me the only solution (unless you have a better one). Also the keys are now kinda worn, so a change seems to be a good idea, for security. But I don't know if I will be able to get a lock set anywhere.

Any ideas please?

Raccon , there's nothing in the keyhole unit that can make such sound, may something under the dash is loose. I only had this noise and the key chain noise on my bike.

I know... even I find it hard to imagine what under the keyhold/inside the lock thats causing this infernal noise?! But the source is somehwere there, as the noise stops if i press on the lock with a finger!

So, no solutions...?

IF you can post a video with clean sound and the thing you do to stop the sound, may some one can find the cause.

@Johnda, what exactly are you looking for the whole fairing assembly or just the top part?

It worked perfectly for me. I put a thick plastic film which comes under new shirt,s collar. It will be hard to find a visor now. In early 2004 I traveled from Cochin to Trichur's Suzuki Showroom to find a new visor and silencer (non-cc type). You may get a Shaolin's visor but should change the whole head light assembly to fix it.

Gosh... that will take a bit of doing... as I'd need to do it while driving the bike... bit dangerous, unless I get a free road. I'm not even sure the noise will record properly when the noisy engine is running fast. Anyway, will try.

Even I'm looking looking for the black fairing. Somebody broke mine when it was parked somewhere. Even the top transparent acralyc part will do, is that is more damaged. But ideally the whole thing.

Where do you think one can get Shaolin's fairing? I thought that would be equally difficult to source? Anyway, is Shaolin's headlamp assy. any better than Shogun's? My headlamp assy. sux... the light is barely enough for moderate city driving. :(

I think i have an silencer core of shogun, which was in my samurai's silencer when i bought second hand, to improve mileage, i have fitted samurai's core into silencer. I am not using it anymore. it lies in scrap.

Ps: shogun core is identified by my two wheeler mechanic, not me. So i think he is right.
