here are pictures of my uncle's Bullet.it's a '76 model.my uncle bought her(is it alright to refer to something as macho as a bullet as her?) four-five months back.he moved to saudi within a month.he pays a visit every year and hence it is my brothers responsibility to take care of her.but my brother doesn't look after her too well(his job takes up most of his time) and hence I have to maintain it now.I hardly ride her('coz the gears are on the wrong side).i actually prefer the chetak to it.
the bike has now been lying around for a month.now that my exams have got over, i have decided to bring her back into shape.the battery is to be replaced.how much would the battery cost?are there different makes available?what should i be looking for?

shyn,

Nice picture.
Bullet in the stand still position does not look good for me. If you remember the proverb "A ship is safe in harbor, but that's not what ships are for".
Get her moving.

Hi Shyn, nice to see another Hyderabadi on the forum even if not I would have recognised the bike is a Hyderabadi with the stickering done on the tool box and its done up recently within a year am I right?

There is no need to worry about the brake or gears being on the other side I would say its just a stigma nothing apart from it, I drive bullet and at the same time splendor and Vespa I don't find any difficulty, just give a try!

Now coming to the battery issue as you said the bike is lying idle in that case the new battery would also get drained out if its not in use else you have to remove the terminals when not in use. Any battery would do l.e., Exide, Amoron etc but make sure you start the bike once in couple of days for all good reasons.

Sorry to make a pictorius thread into a verbal thread but felt was necessary.

could anyone throw some light on a issue i am facing on my RE thunderbird 2005 50th year edition, the ignition goes down while driving many a times, in that case, i need to park the vehicle in the nearest pavement and then do ON & OFF the key many a time till it shows the "N" signal and then only the bike starts, it can be quite dangerous also at times when the vehicle goes off in the middle of the road at full speed.

@alx2mycreed: Nice bike. Congrats. How does it feel to start it- any problems like the CI 350 ?

I feel RE should introduce Electric start and Disc brake as option for STD 350. Afterall since the RHS gear shift is gone, then why stick to the other standard features of CI 350?

If it features electric start and disc brakes, then there would not be any difference between the STD350 and Electra.

Only the Tank, elec. Start and disc brake differentiates the Electra from the Std.350.

Go for the Electra if you need the features.

What is the retail of the UCE Standard 350? And its waiting period?
Could you please post some good unaltered pics of the bike from all angles?

@ruchirtnt
Obviously something is wrong with the ignition key switch. Check with the mechanic, else try using some WD40. Don't use excess, just a bit.

@KA18: I beg to differ. The Bullet STD 350 has a distinct identity of its own- very different from Electra. Even in the CI versions, Electra had more chrome, Different looking front forks etc.

Hey Gordon the bike retails for about 98k and I had a waiting period of 45 days. I will upload some clean pictures of my bike as she is pretty dirty.

Thanks stnair. Starting this baby is a breeze. To start her up you don't kick but just glide the kicker and she's fired up.
