Gordon, Even I loved your cafe racer look. Infact, my cousin is modifying his Mach 500 using your bikes pics as reference. But then again how one's bike should look is an individual's choice!!!

I own a C5 and I find the ergonomics less than ideal. I was thinking of twisting the handlebar towards myself a bit so its either a bit more upright or leaning towards me instead of away from me as is the stock position. Does anyone have any thoughts on this; tried it or seen this? I will of course need to first check whether the cabling is long enough to support the shift but if anyone has any thoughts please let me know.

@ Gordon: what handle bar are you using (in the pic above on pg 45). That's roughly the sort of positioning I'm looking for. Is it from any of the existing Bullet models that I can buy off the shelf and put onto a C5 or did you make it yourself.

Hi Axe.

It is easily done. There is enough play in the cables to allow a decent twist of the OE handlebar.

I did it on my Bull, and so did Randhawa.

The exhaust note must be seriously loud with the " Rocket Silencer" . Any gains to be had with the set up ?

Thanks EssYouWee. That's really good to know. I'll certainly play around with the positioning when I give it in for its first service shortly. Cheers.

Me too . Though only an Inch or so is possible to twist from factory set position, it makes a lot of difference in comfort- arms and shoulders feel relaxed.

Just spoke to the RE service guy and another option he suggested was simply putting on the Electra handle bar as an alternative to twisting the existing bar towards me.

Will check which option feels more comfortable. If someone has experienced both, then again, suggestions are welcome.

Cheers

Hi Axe77,

A month back I wanted the handlebar that had originally come on my Machismo in 2005, but it wasn't available. Moreover, the guy didn't have a Classic handlebar which is almost identical to the one I want. So I picked the Electra handlebar. I don't mind trading my handlebar for yours. Do tell me if you're interested. Would be good for both of us.

hey gordon. I'm actually experimenting with the existing handle bar itself (bringing it closer to me to see if that suits better. Don't think I'll change the bar completely at the moment.

Always great seeing your bike pics though. Its what inspires people like me to take the plunge for a bullet - each bike (even if its in stock) for some reason seems to have its distinct personality. I can't quite explain it.

Default Here's my Pretty Machine

Hey Guys,

Take a look at My Pretty Machine(She is my Second Love, First one being my Car Opel Astra)

Some details about my bike:
1. It is a 1996 Royal Enfield Bullet Standard 350 CI
2. Modifications carried out:
a. Front and rear fenders from a Bullet 500
b. Custom made seat for that low look that makes her look more naked(plz excuse the cover as it was put on during the rains and i haven't removed it still as i am too lazy, will do it asap)
c. Handle Bar from an RD350
d. Dupont paint
e. Twin Horns (Minda OEM)
f. Custom made fuel tank(18 litres)
e. Rear View Mirror(from OEM Bajaj Avenger for better visibility and looks good too)
f. Tail light (even i dunno from which model?) the tail light looks a bit misaligned bcoz of the cheap plastic bracket i am replacing it with a custom made aluminum bracket soon

Plz excuse the quality of pics as it is taken frm my Nokia 5800 Xpress Music Phone. Njoy the pics.
