My 2015 CL 500 Dessert storm.
Swapped the RVMS with that of from the avenger and changed the exhaust to the one from RRP. First service down and still religiously following the run in.

This is one area that I dont contribute much - Biking. But couple of weeks back, I had a chance to add this beauty to my name - 1970 model Bullet. Just went through a minor restoration in order to pass the fitness test which will done today or tomorrow. So should have this back this weekend after which I will slowly start to restore it to it's full glory. Will take some better pictures this weekend. This picture was taken before the restoration work.

Slightly OT, but I think it's slightly relevant to owners of REs of 2001.

Quote:
If you had spent Rs 55,000 to buy a Royal Enfield motorcycle in 2001, you would now have an old, rugged bike. But if you had invested the same Rs 55,000 in shares (at Rs 17.50 per share) of Eicher Motors, the company that makes Enfield bikes, your investment will be worth Rs 5 crore as of 06 March, 2015.
So, to put things in perspective, you could've bought a Ferrari 458 now.

This first and the last snap of my 500 .
Sold my highway ride today after 8 years of riding to places, most of it solo.

Will miss it a lot. No other bike can give me that happiness when it gets into that sweetspot on a ride.

Hi Tarkesh, this is the RD 350 replica handle bar. It is available online, but I would suggest you check your local bike parts dealer (or one who sells Yamaha parts). I got them for around 300 bucks, while online its selling from Rs 800 and up.

The ride is much improved. As the handle is both wider and taller than the stock one, your back (tail bone) doesn't hurt. Find the right position before you get it tightened. You can use the stock cables on this one. The 1st ride after the change you would find the difference immediately and might feel a bit odd, but then you will being to appreciate the new handle, and thus it is important to get the position right for your kind of riding.

Rgds

Sir, noticed that we both own the same steed. Could you please share some more info and pics of the seat mod job? Would be very helpful. Also, a closeup of the sticker on the battery box is requested.

Keep thumpin'

Hello Neel dada,

It's done from a local seat maker at Pune's auto hub, Nana Peth. I'm sure in Burdwan there are seat makers who can do it. I got extra foam added and the contour added on top of stock company seats.
Here you go with the pictures.

Cheers,
Surja

I want to particularly understand how the mod on the back rest is done? Is that a customised one or was that available in the market?

I am in look for one such back rest for my c350.

Please help.
