| My first (and only so far) bike was the HH Karizma (purchased in Jan 2005). It stayed with me for 4 years before I sold it with 9200 KMs on the Odo. It was used exclusively in Noida/Delhi region. The fastest I rode on it was on the DND flyway at 120+ speeds. It was fun. Really loved this bike. Never failed me, didnt require anything other than the usual maintenance in all those 4 years, no single part failed ever! I bought it for 72k and it was sold for 40k. Being a big bike lover I would love to own a superbike (preferably in 600cc class) sometime before leaving this world, subject to my wife permitting it. Right now, she is dead against it! Have lots and lots of cajoling to do to realize this ambition. |

| Blue bullet electra 350. Handed down by my big brother. Power tuned with disc brakes at front which wasn't standard at that time. Not easy to have a bullet as your first bike but I still love that bike. It was a thing of beauty. 3 years on the bullet, prepared me to ride any bike. ![]() |

| A used Kawasaki Bajaj RTZ. The cheetah advert, remember ? Boy it was a rocket, could not handle it initially. Did Mumbai Goa on it and what a ride it was. HEAVENLY. Had to sell it off because of persistent engine oil seal issue. I miss you RTZ. |

| A wonderful thread which will take you back to you sweet memories. My first bike was a YAMAHA RX 100 1995 model. Bought it in the year 2003 for Rs. 21,500/-. Tried negotiating hard with the seller who was adamant on the pricing. The bike was retrofitted with a butterfly handle, raised front suspension, entire chasis painted with silver colour and tail lights replaced with small twin fog lamps then. No idea why the owner chose all these modifications which made the bike look ugly (in my eyes). But, it's again a personnel choice hence didn't comment. I cared nothing about these mods since I had pre-decided that I will bring it to the stock condition. I didn't even dare to show the bike to my parents after buying it as I was sure I would face their wrath after looking at the bike. In those days Hero Honda Splendour was ruling and with great difficulty I convinced them for the RX. Bought the bike around 7 pm, drove straight to the mechanic who is one of the specialist mech for RX in Hyderabad and happen to be a good friend of my BIL. Told him I want all the modifications to be stripped off and bring the bike to stock condition including the paint. After one month I couldn't believe my eyes after the transformation. We chose 'Red' colour, the same OEM red for Yamaha and if rolled out from a showroom. It costed around 6 k approx for the job. I enjoyed each moment with it and nobody in my near locality had a bike like mine. Most of them enquired about the color as how did I manage to get the same one and my answer was 'Sanjay mechanic' the bike's sound was also finely tuned. It used to give me an exceptional mileage of 45 kmpl in city driving and 48 kmpl on highways which was an icing on the cake. Had to sell it with a very heavy heart since my job required intense travelling within city and my reimbursements weren't meeting my fuel expenses. Sold it to the same mechanic for Rs. 12 k in 2007 and bought a Honda Unicorn. It was and will remain my first love forever, nothing can replace a YAMAHA RX 100. Hoping to buy another Rx 100 and restore it. Cheers, Abhi |

| Senior - BHPian | I have a question. See, its nigh on impossible to ride a black pulsar in delhi nowadays, without papers. I haven't ridden the bike in close to 4 years now. So can anyone tell me how to get insurance, reg, etc. They've been missing for years now. Insurance also requires registration, at least. And I REALLY want to take her out. |

| My first bike was a loaner my cousin's RX 100 . Learned to drive on it . Low weight and height and a forgiving engine . Loved the exhaust note and the roar of 2stroke engine downshifting . Second was a again another cousin's RX 135 . The best just got better . Finally on 2012 March bought a bike of my own . Decided to stick with Yamaha after the lovely experience with them earlier .
