what is the weight of the new activa? Is it less or more compare to the previous model?
does it have an alarm signel when the side stand is on? if no any other scooter has this feature?

Default weight

It's about 10 kilos lighter and about 5/15 mm higher at the seat. Don't know about the rest.

I saw conflicting news about its engine. Few websites say that it has 109cc - 8 BHP engine, but the advertisements and Honda Website doesn't talk anything about it (actually Honda website doesn't even display new Activa).

Unless there is change in engine, this all new Activa is just similar to "All New 800 now with clear lense headlamps" (Replace 800 with any other "all new" car).

disappointed to not see a telescopic fork.

throws up a dilema. Activa has the better engine and Aviator has the better susp and brakes.

Is Honda going the Bajaj way? Why 2 engines with a 7 cc difference?

Will the reliability of the Aviatior be equal to the Activa? We have a 3 year Activa and it has held up very well. No issues apart from the poor front suspension

Well I read this complete thread and I would like to put few points:

1) CBS (Combined Braking System) arrangement is such that the right lever is only to actuate the front brake while the left hand lever actuates both front and rear brake simultaneously.

2) The system for distributing force through CBS lever is purely mechanical and is based on linkages. There is no control of ECU

3) The ideal braking is that both front and rear brakes should be applied at same time, but practically it is impossible. Front brake is important because during braking complete moving inertia is transferred to front axle while rear braking is important as all 2-wheelers are rear wheel drive although it may cause slight lateral skidding.

4) Usually designers according to vehicle dynamics choose which brake (FR or RR) to apply slightly ahead of the other one through CBS

5) In Activa it is Rear first and then Front

6) Activa deluxe I have heard shall be available for sale by end of August all over India

Thumbs up

Thanks Sensible Biking. I booked the deluxe version for my uncle yesterday. The sales guy told me that the lot will be arriving today or tomorrow. But the vehicle will be delivered only after its officially launched it seems. So hasn't they launched the model yet? but the website shows that certain features are available only in deluxe version.

Hi guys got the delivery of Aciva Deluxe. Nothing changed except two things not even the graphics. Will post the pictures of only those two things which have been changed. There are two break cables to the front wheel and they have provided a shutter for the ignition key. These are the two things that comes in Activa Deluxe in addition to the regular model.
