Smile Help for selecting Bike

Hi,

Just few months back, TBHP folks helped me in getting Zen, now its time to help me again for Bike.

I need bike to commute approx 50-70 km daily, so my priority are

1. FE
2. Riding Comfort.
3. Build quality
4. Budget: 45-50K on road

I am not a college going kid so looking for a bike in executive segment which I can take to office

Waiting for feedback...

Best bet would be a Bajaj Discover.. awesome fuel efficiency, awesome performance (it equals the new p150 in 0-60kmph and tops at 111kmph which is very similar to the pulsar). And it falls in your price bracket. I could also recommend the super splndour to you but it kinda loses out on the riding comfort part. Go for the top of the line ES Disc Brake Alloys version. Sweet bike!

Sorry dude. Dont come to this section often. I think the Fazer would be a nice choice if you can live with it's looks. It is nicely engineered. And if you can stretch your budget, the Unicorn is good too.

if you can slightly stretch your budget look at the Unicorn and of course you cant go wrong with a Pulsar 150 DTSi... In case this budget is strict I guess the Discover is good (never been on it but heard good things abt it ...like powerslave says)

Hope you took a test ride! I'm sure you must've loved it, it's got a big bike feel to it and pretty stable with handlebar-weights etc. So it's a super commuter!

Yup, Discover is a good choice.. it provides a good balance between power and economy. I have taken a ride in my friends discover and really liked it. The seats are pretty comfortable, has a good pickup, topwhack.. well, i could do 90kmph wid a pillion on the outer ring road. My friend says he has done 100 with a pillion.. that was his max. It gives him an average of around 65 when ridden normally.
Nice choice and do provide a review on the bike.

Thanks guys, I had taken a test ride before finalizing.
Actually I was thinking of going in for Super Splender, but due to "pathetic" response I got from Hero Honda showroom even after informing, I am purchasing bike in cash I moved to Bajaj show room.

And the guy there invested his two hours in explaining test riding "ALL" bajaj models like pulsar - CT100 ...I was sold there itself that I want to buy a Bajaj

Yeah Adya - the Discover was developed for India while the Wind (though sold in India) was a Kawasaki branded bike meant more for exports.

but i tell you the wind was one SWEET bike. effortless axcceleration and a smooth gearbox - never ridden a better bike !

sadly it was discontinued !

the discover is another awesome bike - PINGME congratulations on the new bike!
pics and reports - asap please !

cheers
