I paid 3.8k man. Was almost in a junk trim, however everything was in place. The internal bowl overflow pipe was broken. New TM28SS (down draft) I heard cost 7-8k.

have u plonked the TM on as of yet joel ?

i also wanted to ur opinion of a street ported chambered RX used as an everyday commuter : do u think adding a TM would make sense on a such a setup with the target being low end and midrange throttle response ? how bad a hit will milage take with the addition of the TM on such a setup present milage being 30 kmpl ball park ? any clue on whats the going price for second hand OEM TMs and and brand new fake TMs available on JC road ? are the fake ones worth the monies ?

Hats off to you man for your effort and passion towards technical aspects more than just riding. I have a Fiero made for dirt and Motocross, which needs your valued help for her better engine performance and durability.

I would be happy if you have a look on my thread(Advice on building a faster dirt bike for racing) and put your inputs which shall bring a lot of difference.

Default Modifying my Fiero FX

Hello friends !
I own a TVS Fiero FX 2006 model having run approx 1.2Lac kms (many long rides including Ladakh & Konkan circuit) on it with barely any issues. After having purchased a 4W last year, my bike is currently not used as much as it was being previously.

With the long years of usage, the bike has surely undergone some wear & tear + with the unavailability of parts for Fiero FX, its becoming rather very difficult to maintain the bike. Even if I've to sell this bike, am sure I'd not get anything more than 6k-7k for this bike & hence I plan to modify it to be a good "Off-Road Touring bike" (eg; BMW Enduro series types)

Request your suggestions on the below

-Good mechanic in Mumbai (around Andheri) who has done work on performance bikes + modifications.
-Availability of parts (Front Inverted shock-abs, Chasis frame, Swing arm, Rear -Monoshock, Disc Brakes, Magneto's etc)
-Can/Should I replace the engine with another one (2nd hand) purchased from Kurla/ any other place??
-Draughtsman to design+build Tank / Panels & colouring
-Any other suggestions / performance tips that I can embed

My 2 cents...
Stay off from inverted telescopic front suspension; the telescopic ones are technically better & well suited for your needs, costs less & 1 less headache on the mods.
