I am not mixing OIL with the fuel as I am not using it on the highway and guess the OIL pump is good enough to do the job in the city limits.
Regarding the lube, My mechanic advised me to go for Kinetic Honda 2T oil. His reasoning was as follows. The CAT silencer cant be cleaned and too much of carbon deposits block the CAT silencer. Kinetic Honda OIL is the one that leaves out the least carbon on the silencer. I am not sure if this is correct. Experts, please clarify.

The piston was screwed up and it was seized because the OIL pump wasn't working and the previous owner dint bother
The Piston is replaced and the bike is re-bored now.

Is it so ? I thought there were too many restrictions on the CAT con silencer. Personally, I am a big fan of those 'calculated' expansion chambers. The way the bike 'opens' up is just a feeling out of the world!

That's definitely on the list! After the 'pocket recovery' period

Is that a Shogun handle bar in the RX?
Thanks dude, No its supposedly an RD-350 handle bar. I actually felt that the RD's handle is slightly bigger when compared to mine. Once I started riding, I felt the handling really good and it gelled with my bike perfectly

@Sameer could you please share how did you manage the spare parts? That would be helpful. Thanks!

Change the crash guard to stock one as this one on your bike never works.
I am not expert but can suggest some good care about two strokes.
Look whoes saying i am not an expert hehe.
Nice bike though i think that it should not have any thing gone wrong with it aprt from the consumables,

Unfortunately the authentic 5 speed spares(Exterior spares in particular) are not available anywhere, including the showrooms in Bangalore.

Since the old tank was pretty rusty from inside, I wanted to get myself a new 5 speed tank and side shields too.

I tried it in all the showrooms in Bangalore, the Gujri , grey market etc but in vain. ( I tried only for original stuff)

So I got the RX-100 tank and side shields from Perfect Motors, Lalbagh road ( Its an authorized showroom).

I had to take it to a reputed painter to remove the RX-100 Stickers, put on the 5 speed stickers and then re-lacquer it.

I dint feel good about handing over a showroom finished tank to a painter. Since all the RX series tanks, shields are nearly/same in shape and size, I was ok with the 'sticker conversion'.

The other spares like Central ignition and lock, fuel tank lock, indicators, speedo left meter are all of make 'MINDA' which is a decent brand and is available in most parts of bangalore.

The internal spares like Piston, bearings etc were all managed by my mechanic. He is a competent, trustworthy & 'family known' so I dint bother much with respect to the internal spares

I have seen many 2000 and 2002 models, but they are not 5 speed. Was both 4 speed and 5 speed on sale simultaneously. When did it stop production?

Sorry I was not in India during that time

The 4 speed Rx was launched in 1996 to 1999. (RXG, RX 135 and RXZ 4 speed).

5 speed was launched in 2000 upto 2004. (RX 135 and RXZ 5 speed)

Again from 2004 upto 2005 there was the last Rx 135 - 4 speed being reproduced and launched with facelifted look.

Simultaneously both bikes were never sold. (the 4 speed and the 5 speed).

sorry to say this, it seems your data is wrong when I search for a second hand RX 135 between 2000 and 2004 on Quickr and Olx. I can find several 4 speed gear boxes and also 5 speed as well.

Well..... if you say so then I might be wrong,

Wikipedia Link

Team BHP Link (Difference between the various Yamaha RX series bikes?)

You asked the production dates of various models and I am pretty sure that those are accurate years that I mentioned.

I think there is a correction, Since i have brought a brand new Rx 135 (4Speed) in november 2002, 4 speed changed it model (engine casing, Cat-con and tank design). But as far as i could recollect the 5 speed was sold after this.

I don't think this info is correct. IIRC, the 5 speed RX135 was produced only from mid-2000 to mid-2001.
