That is no way to treat a great bike such as the CI 500, please understand that there will never be another one quite like the CI 500 in a long long time.

If i remember right the 500 CC in 1991 had the bucket type read mudguard and for all practical purposes looked like a STD350. Correct me if I am wrong, but the green 500 with the rounded mudguards wasn't introduced until 1994 or thereabouts.

If it was me I would restore it to that green look. IMO, it was the last great bike from RE and is every bit as iconic as the black STD350 with the gold stripes.

I'd suggest silver. You're heading the right direction, but:

- make the headlight cowl silver too.
- change the bend pipe too.
- and the 500 looks good in this livery and stripe, not the standard 350 style. With this styling it looks more macho than the standard 350.

Are you going for complete restore?!

Yes I am planning to do a restoration and little modification too.
Plan:
1. Change the rear Hub assembly in to single side one (Old model).
2. Change the Number plate fittings to the old model.
3. Fit the AMP Meter and speedometer on the Handle bar
4. Single seat
5. Reduce the gap between rear wheel and mud guard.
6. Slightly increase the front Height
7. Change both mudguards to round type (paint)
8. Fit Rubber bush on the petrol tank.
9. Change the Toolboxes in to Machismo Style tool Box
10. Change to 12 V battery
11. Change stock air filter to K&N filter.
12. Change the color in to Metallic Black.
13. Chromium plating on Clutch Cover & Brass plating on Gearbox Cover.

The White colored one is a 350CC Bull I took the picture just for a reference. The Original color of My Bullet was black in 2003 I change in to that double color and I change the Original mudguards, Front Assembly (Used one from Bullet Lightning).
I am attaching the Models what I am planning.

So its a "Rebuild" what you are going for. The base ref pic was a good one to model on. Well its just my opinion seeing your list that stock body work (RE)+ 535/T'bird kind of front (no h/l cowl) etc makes a Bullet look bit Lost. Good that you are doing it up at least now. do keep us posted.

& how good those old brakes would be in comparison to current drum brakes at least ?
