Looks like you had a great time riding. It is experiences like these which bring you closer to the machine and cherish them for long. While group riding has its advantages, it is more with solo riding that one can really connect and sync with the bike.

So, what next? A saddle sore or track days?

Aditya, kudos to you for having pulled it off. Maybe you can start a thread as to dos and donts for a long bike ride (or maybe it already exists). You spoke about cramps and arms pain, but what about your back?

PS: I have read it from many other experienced drivers that Red bull is a strict NO-NO for long rides, be it a car or bike.

Solo rides are fun & due to my location, I have always done solos.

Its a good idea to have fruits, dry fruits and tea instead of aerated drinks and chocolates (had read about this chocolate thing on www, can't recall where)

Thanks. I never consume Red Bull but on this instance it was a back-up option.

My back was fine, only my legs were hurting and cramping on the way to Chennai due to dehydration.

On the way back i was well hydrated with elektral so had no pains whatsoever.

I would suggest the more experienced folks, such as the Iron Butts, to share the do's and dont's.

Aditya,
Motul is quite affordable going by your prices, did check out the Shell Advance Ultra at one of Shell Petrol bunks off Wilson Garden and received a quote of 1015 per liter. Now the million dollar question do you think Shell is good or would you still prefer Motul?
looks like you had a good weekend ride.

Also what is the brand name of motul that you buy?

Shell advance ultra is only available in 10w40 grade and the other shell advance oils are also in the same grade except for Advance AX-3 which is available in 20w40.

As per the manual i need to fill 20w50. I have tried Motul 15w50 but anything thinner like 10w40 causes clutch slip as per online reviews. I'm not a motul loyalist and if i can get hold of better oils in the recommended grade then i'm up for it.

I'm currently running Motul 7100 Ester 20W50 Fully Synthetic on my ninja.

Aditya, I received my Rjays Elite tail bag from eBay india today. Very good quality and features.

I bought AlpineStar Bionic Kneeguard and Rjays Elite tail bag based on your reviews. I am happy with both of them. Thank you very much.

It was bought from eBay India so no duties apply.

Quoting myself from the previous post!

Any updates to this discrepancy in the billing? Did Bajaj clarify what it is all about?

Sorry Abhinav. I haven't been able to check with Bajaj on this. Been very busy.

My low beam bulb gave up last week (almost 15,000 kms on the odo now in a year and four months) and I need to get it replaced. Will hopefully get done with it next saturday and clarify the bill too when i am there for this.

No other issues with the bike. I guess the bulb just completed its lifespan.

Yet to get the low beam bulb replaced. Been busy so riding around with the high beam on.

Just called the Bajaj service center that services the ninja and spoke to the manager in charge of the ninja service dept.

The freaking bulb costs a whopping 2000 bucks. Yes !!! 2k for one bulb !!! thanks to the import duties and taxes. Man, i literally fell off my chair. For the cost of 2 such bulbs i can upgrade the ninja's headlights to HID's (via online purchase in the USA).

So here is my alternative... and a good one too.

Philips X-treme Power H7, 12v 55w. Product code - 12972XP

Product details - Philips Lighting India - H7

Review - Philips X-tremePower H7 headlight bulbs - ninjette.org

Cost - Rs. 750/- a pair.

wow 2k for one bulb? guess the taxes
Was it Stanley make that you got along with your bike?
You were mentioning of HID, how safe is it have them fitted? Do you think HID is better to go rather than putting in simple 100/90 Bulbs?
