A Yamaha RX100/RXZ gets my vote. Easy 2 stroke power.

Hmm, am getting confused a bit.

I used to wheelie my pulsar180 a lot a cruise at best on my adreno. I would still want to own a performance bike that does wheelies(the reason y the rx is still in the picture)

But I will also enjoy the cruise on the enfields which are a bit expensive to maintain.

Do u guys think a used rx-z will be the best bet as the rx parts are available aplenty.

and how will the rx-z 14bhp model compare to a shogun(hard to find though)

the latest RXZ 5-speed wid disc brakes is the best looking yamaha bike....
its a real killer if modded the right way. The stock RXZ is not to my taste, however a stage 1 port-job itself should make the bike fly!

Ok lets say yezdi is an open option.

I am ruling out the shogun on the assumed facts that parts maybe a big problem compared to the yamaha. Hence yamaha rx is preffered over shogun as of now.

In the enfield stable while I love the lightning and it is also the most powerful, do you think spares and maintainence will be a problem???

I would pick up an RX-135 or RX-Z blindfolded. Convert the front brakes to disc, give it some better quality rubber.

If you want serious power, with porting and chamber it can make close to 20 bhp. I know tuners in Bangalore and Chennai, but you need to ask around in your part of the country.

yes I Have also heard about porting and expansion chambers. I had 2 on my adreno and I know it will make more difference on a 2-stroker.

But when selecting an enfield cruiser which is the better model. lightning 535,bullet 535 or thunderbird?

considering the following points

the availability of spares
,maintainence,
comfort and
pickup

You have done porting & put expansion chamber on your Adreno ???

Out of the three the 1at two are difficult to find & the Lightening tho a powerfull bike is known for facing lotsa technical issues, so you safest bet would be the TB :-)

BUt then I thought you were looking for a 2-stroke

My confusion is that I have had fourstroke performers. my neighbours own a yamaha rx-z (recently sold to my bad luck) and a yamaha rx-135 5-speed which I have driven and liked a lot.

I have also test driven a thunderbird which I enjoyed.

SO I am kinda torn between the two options.

I like the lightnings design a lot but spares and maintainence as many have pointed out is a problem.

how is the bullet 500 compared to the thunderbird?

asked a friend of mine whose dad had a lightning 535. He said the maintainence is too high and are about to sell it off.

Looks like I yamaha rx-z it is. can any1 tell if it is possible to ask yamaha to get a new rx-z special ordered? the 5-speed with disc brake model is what I would want to own.

I have heard from some people that some Yamaha showrooms still sell the RX135 & the RXZ, dont know how true it is but it could be from the rmaining stock stock, so just find out & you might be lucky

Call up all the yamaha Dealers in India(get the number from website or showroom in you city) & find out if someone has a Stock RXZ :-)

Among these bikes my choice would be Yamaha RXZ or the RX-135 otherwise it would be thunderbird.

Ok will a rx-z with the old rx-100 muffler(claied to give 16bhp from 14hp) with a 100/90x1800 alloys beat a karizma or a pulsar 180?

rxz is only 135cc but it is also as light comapred to the other two.
