RJays H2O Boots

RJays cost around 5.9k and JR's cost 8k.

Was initially inclined towards JR but i feel RJyas offers better protection than the JR (see features).
Go for JR, they are good, Based on my recent purchase i feel so

RJays H2O Boots

JoeRocket.com

Here are the differentiating factors between RJays and Joe Rocket (protection features).

RJays:
  • Reinforced toe and heel protection
  • Ankle and shin plated protection
Joe Rocket:
  • Reinforced padded shin with hook and loop closure
  • Padded ankle area
  • Molded plastic side impact protection
Please help me decide between the above two boots. Intending to make the purchase by this weekend.

I am leaning towards RJays since it has plated protection compared to the Joe Rocket that has only padded protection. Plus RJays is cheaper by 2k.

Thanks Sheel. But i'm looking for full length boots only since the level of protection they offer is much higher (shin protection).

Let's Gear Up, Bangalore is giving 10% off on their stock of Sidi boots. They also have brought their own line of waterproof boots. Take a look if around!

I have a pair of Sidi Vertigo Rains and they are superb. A couple of points
- I have found that Sidi tends to be narrower than a normal fit. They also have a wider version which is labeled mega so if you have wide feet look out for a mega model if its available.
-I put the boots through their paces on a mud covered estate road in the monsoon in chikmangalur on my last ride and they held true to the rain label and stayed completely waterproof, although this waterproofing obviously comes at the cost of ventilation of any form. Some of the sidis come with ventilation on the side but then you would obviously lose the waterproofing!!
- What I really love about my boots is they have a little adjuster that can be used to adjust the tension on the calf. It works brilliantly as you loosen up the adjuster and the boot slides on easily, then you can dial in how tight you want the calf region to be which also gives me some flexibility while changing gears.
- As a final pointer Sidi does not use real leather but uses something called Lorica. I have never felt a major difference on this though and doubt you will either.
