Below is 80's Honda INTERCEPTOR-750. I hope the one you mentioned should be a prior model to this.

80's Honda VF400F.

The interceptor did not have a tubular chassis.

Its more likely to be a 1983-84 VT250. Can you get the chassis and engine number off the bike? The headlamp cowl doesn't seem to be original?

Edit: I think Spitfire might be right!!

Ferrari thats a neat find you got there... why can't we see such findings in Mumbai ?? Here all we see are the newgen Yamahas, Pulsars and Suzukis.

Rest of them are the thrown away or stolen and/or abandoned Bajaj scooters and RX100s. One can find these in plenty outside Police Stations especially at the Marol Police dumping ground which is a graveyard for vehicles and a treasure hunt for spare parts scavengers.

Get some more snaps of this beauty, try getting a diagonal snap of it also a view of the cam-shaft from the top.

Chassic/Engine number MC08 is the VT250. My first guess was correct.

Here is a website with a few bike specs - Welcome to Simons VT250 Home Page

Guys,

I thought we knew better than to post the engine and chassis number of a vehicle on an online forum. Please have that removed asap if you dont want 10 different bikes punched with this number and riding around town. One cannot stress enough on net safety and the fact that there are f***heads everywhere trying to lay their hands on info to misuse.

Having said that, long since I saw a good V, this one holds promise. Ask your friend if he wants to sell, papers arent an issue as long as its basic mechanicals are sound (also, if he isnt selling and wants a fresh set of papers, I can help him with that, faced something similar with one of my motorcycles and got it sorted)

Thanks Mates,

Now thats its confrom VT250 can anyone please say me will this be worth getting it back to life for long term ownership.

As getting a RD was always a dream and i see that dream die.
because of the prices of rds go high like crazy.
But RD is Rd, Nothing else can give the thrill of it and the search is still on.

Ferrari: Ownership - yes! long Term ownership : Am not so sure, whilst an RD is a collectors dream which will thrill you every time you take it out, am not confident that one will not outgrow this machine in a year or two and want to upgrade It doesnt have the long lasting charisma of a stroker.

Do you want an RD? I know they are hard to find, and most ugly ones are quoted around a lakh with "ART"y pistons however, I still know of about 20 decent ones for 50-70k, with papers.

Got PM - replied. I suggest you ride the V for now, it's got a charm of its own, have your fill of owning a quality Honda product then you can move to a rather rowdy Yammy and keep that for life!!!
